Idira Archetype?

Just wondering what people are doing with Idira. I took her through Bounty Hunter because my RT and Cass are both using the support archetypes already.

Then I quickly realized for my team I get much more mileage out of Idira buffing/debuffing than DPS because Argenta with a heavy bolter is pretty much my whole combat strategy at this point.

I’ve pretty much just been ignoring both of Idira’s archetypes In favor of moar psyker talents. Is this the way or am I underutilizing her?

I use her as paint for my bulkhead walls. It's a pretty nice Archetype that decreases veil degradation by a huge margin.

I don't get why you're all so butthurt at Idira. She's literally my best damage dealer in Act 1. Argenta can't do ♥♥♥♥. She's not useless, but Argenta is one of my least successful people, only Pasqal is less damaging but he's also useful and a good sniper. Honestly Argenta or Heinrix is who I'd leave behind.

Idira's chain lightning alone take sout 3-5 dudes in one shot. Only Lidless Stare is better for trash mobs. With the right talents this buffs her damage up tremendously by level 15.

I still am just leaving everyone but myself unleveled because I'm not sure what to do, I wanted Vanguard for Abelard but he's legitimately way better as Arch Militant probably, he's also the only one I actually switch attacks with naturally. Idira I was leaningn on Bounty Hunter, but the Assassin stuff is tempting. It's also tempting to have both Operatives become assassins, I think Pasqal would be better being the assassin/sniper.

Heinrix idgaf about having him ride along feels like being Walter White and bringing Hank with me. Only Heinrix isn't as bumbling a fool. Argenta I'm not sure if I want Master Tactician, I was going to go with Arch Militant but all I use her for is flamer and medkits. She'd be an awful Arch Militant, her bolter is completely useless to me.

PC I'm using Strategist/Officer. Of course.

Cassia I dunno, I'm now leaning more Vanguard because she has that talent that buffs her with tons of temporary wounds although idk if taking the other Vanguard talent will screw up her temp wounds. She just doesn't seem as useful for Master Tactician. I also want to use a variety so whoever I make Arch Militant and Vanguard I don't want two of them with my starting party.

Yeah, for psykers like Idira and Cassia, you don't need to spec into their 'archetype' that often. The psyker/navigator abilities are superior in general.

Still a question of which is better though, I also realized the stupid leveling is going to make Psyker Majoris NOT possible at level 20, I need to wait until level 21 so I'm planning accordingly after finding out the hard way leveling up from 9 to 10 won't let you pick the +1 PR talent that level you need to wait after (because it wants you to be level 10, you're becoming level 10, so the game counts it as level 9. This annoyed me at the time).

Bolter to the head from close range. Sister Argenta knows what to do with heretics.

Argenta is one of the least useful, in point of fact the main thing that even makes her so useful later on is Argenta's the one setting people on fire to use Idira's pyromancy abilities.
