Secret companions need more work
Seriously! My Heretic Rogue Trader unlocked two of them. But during the chapter they become available to the player, none of them interact within the party through banter. Nor do they have dialogues on the bridge. Or personal companion quests. Frankly, they have the presence of mercs.

Please improve upon them Owlcat! Such figures really deserve more than...this.

Hm, anyone know if the remaining secret companion, Incendia Bastaal-Chorda, behaves soulless like that as well? I imagine yes. Would really surprise me if just one out of three got all of Owlcat's attention.

What was your disposition and who did you recruit?

I did recruit both Calligos Winterscale and Uralon The Cruel at the same time on my Heretic playthrough (with Heretical at tier V). The choice came up at the very end of chapter 4.

Thanks so it is possible to recruit both Calligos Winterscale and Incendia with either iconoclast and dogmatic. I doubt you can recruit the third companion.

Mind explaining how that worked? In my game Calligos got mortally wounded. I selected the dialogue option that I would bring him back to the Emperor's Vow and the ship was nowhere to be seen and the quest completed and the game just never brought up the fact he's bleeding out on my ship ever. Feels like a bug.

He never received any wounds with me. Seems like a consequence of your prior way of handling the Hunting Grounds quest. Or a matter of different alignment paths.

For the dogmatic route, the companion is the same as the other two, there is no interaction, banter, etc.

Oh? I noticed that he was never tired and his team was exhausted and it lead to a dialogue about his Arch Militant being an agent of chaos and slowly being corrupted so he attacked his second handman and got hurt.

Can't speak of that as it didn't happen to me. After the planet business and the xeno hunt he didn't show up until the very end of chapter 4. Winterscale boarded my ship quite healthy together with Uralon the Cruel and later on joined my party for chapter 5.

Damn, I feel like I stumbled into an 80’s CIA released document

I'm also trying to figure out how to recruit him in on an iconoclast run not sure if I progressed through the quest correct if he ended up wounded after revealing his arch militant was an agent of chaos and winter ended up wounded.

Yeah. So I finished Act 4 and he lived, but his back is so damaged he will never fight in the frontlines again. I don't think he's the Iconoclast choice. I got someone else as an Iconoclast. Chorda has a weird flamer build, but she does well actually.

So I was looking at the coding in toybox for the scene where you redeem Winterscale and he get's injured. It seems to be unavoidable unless you, kill the elves, just avoid this scene entirely, or walk away. If you do that then later in CH 4 he will return fully corrupted and you are forced to kill him then, or if you are Heavy into Heretical, you can recruit him and one other companion at that time.

Also interesting is if he is injured there are 2 options for not finishing him off. One to let his people find him, and one to bring him back yourself. Both options end the quest, and as far as I can tell does not unlock any interaction w/ the Emperor's Vow in orbit. That being said there is difference in the coding outcomes for choices in that if you choose to bring him back yourself, the code indicates that it starts a timer. However, I couldn't figure out what the timer is for, how long it is, how to complete it, or what happens if it runs out. So if anyone knows more about it please let us know.

They are secret companions, taht you only unlock very late into the game. They are like a bonus, not supposed to have a lot done with them by the point you get them.

Well, at least a diaologbox where you can talk with them would have been nice. As it is now they behave like mercs or any other non essential bridge personal.
