learning curve
How complex is this title say compared to pathfinder WOTR which was great game but took me a while to get my head around all the game mechanics which i spend to much time reading about then playing lol. Has warhammer 40,000 got a easier learning curve or do i have to spend weeks trying to work out how this game works.

It's not nearly as many options but you still have to do a bit of reading.

There are many mechanics that interact with each other and depend on "IF - THEN" conditions. For example - IF you have a certain talent &IF an ally removes enemy armor THEN you get a buff against that specific enemy. Remembering all of those is hard, but on normal i don't have much problems mostly just picking what feels right. But, if you read into those mechanics and build your character right... you will make unstoppable killing machines that are "perfectly balanced" and will insta kill anything under specific conditions that you manipulate into existence.
So, being a math nerd and a fan of actual pen and paper RPGs will help.
Also, there is chapter three... you might rage, especially if you came here from a certain inferior game that was popular recently. Let's just say it is perfectly doable if you save a lot in different slots and stop for a while to think before acting.
There is a few other encounters like that, so i recommend saving in a new slot every time you enter a new area and to not play above normal difficulty. Sometimes, a fight might seem unfair, but replaying it will show you that the trick may be as simple as positioning your characters different or prioritising a specific enemy.

Honestly..... because the skills more interact and even between classes.... i would say its very complex. But thats actually the selling point. So if you dont like complex systems you should be prepared to switch to easy difficulty then its cool.

You get 1 free respec, and if you want to play on harder difficulties you will pretty much have to use a build guide or have prior knowledge of the systems, because you WILL make mistakes that are unforseeable at the time you are making them while choosing skills. which kind of sucks for those of us who want to do a blind playthrough with a challenge. The lack of free or cheap respecs really sucks, i could have gotten away with 2-3, but 1 is overly restrictive for a game like this.

90% of common people trying to play the game have found this IF-Then logic very confusing and most times is useless skills since conditions have to be perfect to benefit and even then sometimes makes no difference.... forget all that, build your core up for your type character, that way you get all the benefits every combat mission. They went out of their way with this ridiculous math that even with pen and paper is complete waste of time! The random dice has more impact that your trivia skills, just use the base one, good defense stance, Admin that can pick another player to fire that turn, etc. Only a handful are even good..... at least in Wrath it was more clear what my points did, and the magic was straightforward - no confusion when conjure a creature, etc. This is just X-com with nice 40k backdrop.... very disappointing in the game! If could get my money back I would .....

It is complex only because they made it complex..... the benefits are marginal.... so the complexity ROI is almost nothing...... the 40k lore lovers can't get enough of this , and good for them. I have watched videos of professional gamers who have played over 100 hours and they are still confused LOL ..... Your character should be built on core of their role, then each trait , skill should say how adds to that core - simple math.... and stop allowing one to pick things your character can't use ..... like they do with the equipment, clearly blocks out what is not your type - that is good thing, do same for skills, etc that add no value..... and if read fine print too many are not additive, or must be used in same turn.... I am more than half way through game, never had my snipers get 2 shots per turn unless the admin. picks them to fire for her..... so all these crazy condition on some of my picks never happened yet.....and the hits are wrong also, my rifle say say 21 hit, but I kill enemies at 100 with one shot, but nothing I have makes that possible, plus even when highlight before shoot shows only say 1/4 drop, but kills them easy.... no idea how this crazy math works in this game LOL

The game overall is completely different, outer space vs medieval fantasy, but the learning curve is about the same.

A lot of reading, for sure.

There's much to learn. It's not another copy-paste like Larian's games, which would make it easier to play.

The biggest difference is how powerful your party becomes. The abilities, stacking and buffs make combat a bit easier.

It still has difficulty spikes like every Owlcat game, but it is more combat friendly. Mainstream gamers would be more attracted to this game than Wrath.

But they'd still complain about losing fights and too much reading.

Honestly , don't waste your money on this game .... go buy the DLC for Wrath, likely get more fun and less frustration - wish I would have did that, half way through game and just a glorified xcom game in 40k world... nothing special.
