How to build Pasqal?
I must have re-specced that cog twice by now and I just can't figure out what to do with him.

I really hate how you can't make him into an Arch-Militant as that would go really well with his ability to dual wield 2-2 handed weapons.

I can't see him as either a Bounty Hunter or Assassin and I already have Casssia being a grand strategist (who can just drop zones and still be a menace thanks to Lidless Stare). I'm currently trying to make him an Assassin, but he isn't exactly the dash-around edgy style and stab people kinda guy, no matter how much I try to force it.

I used Pasqal as an assassin who'd just sit there, in melee (or at range) and murder people for massive damage. Let him open up enemy weak spots facing him each turn, apply his exploits, and he can pretty reliably do 100+ damage towards the end of the game.

You really don't need to have him dash around while being an assassin, "Sit there and do lots of damage" works really well for him too. He's not gonna get a ton of use out of lethality-based abilities due to his middling base dodge stat, so at least in my experience, you're better off making him capable of just outputting a lot of damage when combined with his exploits, and trying to buff his survivability (which was my primary issue with him at the end game, he was extremely squishy).

Assassin can work but i honestly like bounty hunter, you get extra turns to stack more exploits, buff which gives some extra dmg and most often i dont even bother with applying prey.

How do you get extra turns as bounty hunter?

I've gone Assassin. Operator passive + his built-in talent to distribute more exploits to enemies he's around + his wondrous int modifier makes him great at applying Exploits. Then let him target a single one with.. That one ability, Tactical Something, sorry I'm kinda passing out from lack of sleep here..

Ahem, anyway. Target -one- enemy with it, and it'll rip all of their Exploit stacks off and convert them into armor for the whole team (and damage for Pasqal), which coupled with the talent that makes him take less damage from enemies that have exploits on them makes him surprisingly sturdy. He's no Abelard, but he can handle himself zipping around and puréeing people, using his unique talent that gives him + Int Bonus MP on the first round, and more movement every time he lands a melee hit.

Remember, assassins aren't just sneaky types, especially in 40k. It's perfectly acceptable to be a drugged-up cyborg who runs around with the "Nobody saw me kill them if there's nobody left to see it" attitude, just ask the Eversor Clade.

Savour the kill. Whenever your party kills prey the bounty hunter gets extra turn and stacks exploits passively if you are specced for it and actively. However I find this works better on Idira. |f the enemy has large groups you can get like 40 stacks in round 1 and start dealing literally hundreds of damage to bosses with stacked analyse enemies in round 2 while having 100 armour on the party. Pascal is still good as bounty hunter to mark enemies as prey for extra turn. It'd be borderline broken actually if it didn't require setup.

One of the talents gives bounty hunter an extra turn when ally kills an enemy, i believe talent says they need to be prey but its bugged and triggers even on non prey.

Found it.
Savour the kill whenever ally kills prey which aint trailed you half ap and mp turn during which you cant attack. Its bugged so frequently triggers even on non prey.

I'm running him as a grand strategist while using Cassia as a tactician. With him and Yriet both on my team, I have plenty of exploits to go around, add whatever the name is, the one that lets other party members consume exploits with their attacks and my Main character, Soldier BH running a burst build lasgun and Argenta running a heavy weapons bolter burst build on arch militant, I melt most encounters, easily having both of them dealing several hundred damage/ turn.

INT+BS+PE
Sniper as ranged weapon, second arch type grand strategist

He works great by sitting in his safe zone as grand strategist.

Assassin Sniper I tried Bounty Hunter but on Yrielt I went Assassin. Both characters are very similar in terms of combat.

Assassin is just the better sniper cause of Lethality mechanic. Plus Assassin scaling with enemy HP. Plus you get more attacks with Assassin that do more damage.

I first thought yeah bounty hunter looks like a good sniper class while assassin is a ninja. Nope. Assassin is still the better sniper. Go figure.

Pasqal can be both melee and ranged, i spec for mostly melee, with plasma as a secondary when i can't reach my enemy. Focus on skills that give him MP so he can reach his enemy. Use him as a support, don't rush him in and use cover when you can. He not a tank but a jack of all trades.

I personally gave him Grand Strategist...since he smart
Batailleuse Dec 14, 2023 @ 1:52am
ended up with an Operative/Bounty hunter.

and give him every perk related to plasma weapons, because when you use your Leader Ultimate on him, he can basically empty 10-15 shot in a row. with pinpoint accuracy across the map and being plasma ... high armor pen you just delete everything.

he is really flexible and just like other characters he would work well as an assasin too.

Assassin might not be super crazy in normal or lower, but the more you scale the difficulty of content the harder they slap, simply because their whole idea of damage revolves around hitting critical area, and doing a % of max hp to target. (except bosses)

and you can delete at least 30% of hp on a target opening, so it always stay relatively strong.

That being said, i think he works better as bounty hunter, because free extra turn on prey kill = more stack of exploit = massive damage (or team buffs)

I have him as a Grand Strategist, works well so far but is rather boring to play. Might try respecing him to Bounty Hunter to see how that works out.
