Act 5 Catastrophically bugged

To the point of "I go to the first planet I can land on, do a short introduction quest, then trigger the fight... At which point the game has no idea what to do and just locks up in the cutscene indefinitely, with the only solution being to either quit out (Which works out as long as I didn't try to skip out of the cutscene--if I do, the game just goes to a black screen except for the Bug Report interface,)

So, uh. I... Guess they didn't even test Act 5 internally? I noticed things getting increasingly wobbly in the last portion of Act 4, including one bit where Abelard and Hendrix chimed in with something, but there was no dialogue for them, and responding to them was also no dialogue, but apparently worked to avoid having to beat a man to death?

But up until now, while there have been obvious bugs and glitches, none of them have just straight up forced me to have to stop playing the game because I just can't proceed from here. Yesterday was close, with the Siege quest being broken in such a way that it doesn't populate a warp route to the system in question, but I managed to find a workaround by just bouncing back and forth between some Unsafe warp routes until I got the Reef event to give me some Insights, and just manually charted a course there.

I'll also admit to a little concern, that I'm entering the home stretch and yet I'm just shy of hitting T4 Iconoclast. Admittedly, it's a close enough margin that I'll get there with my next Iconoclast choice, but I recall seeing Iconoclast Fanatic options even in the middle stages of Act 4, but there don't seem to be enough points in the game to get there. Is this mostly a New Game + sort of thing? Or are there a ton of points somewhere that I just missed somehow? Or is it more "Nobody can reach Zealot in Iconoclast because there just aren't enough points in the game to get there, at least until some DLC content comes out."

I am confused.

With difficulty, patience, and faith in the spirit of humanity!

But yeah, things got increasingly wobbly into Chapter 4, but this is my first hard stop where I was basically helpless to do anything else. I can't even go back because Chapter 5 is behind a Point of No Return. I could fall back to my backup save I guess, and see if I can scrounge the last few bits of Phlogoston I need to finish my colonies off, (Though I think I've grabbed every scrap of it that exists in the Expanse by now and am still several short :( )

My patient died when a major bug in chapter 2 made me redo chapter 3 after reaching chapter 4...

I play owlcat games with immense trepidation because every step/move I or the enemy makes could be my last. Not because of deadly enemies or traps but because every jank in the game threatens to end my playthrough. The game's bugs are more deadly than any enemy in it. Enough to make even nurgle blush.

A bit shorter than Chapter 2, but longer than Chapters 3 and 1, the real issue is that there's not much in the way of new places to go, but there's a fair amount of content still between all the Character Quests going on and other events.

That's kind of the big issue of the game. Most of the exploration content is loaded into Chapter 2, so it becomes this massive behemoth, but it makes the other chapters look small in comparison. Chapter 5 at least seems to promise to bring back the Exploration, but we'll see how it pans out once I'm able to play the game again.

Yeah just got into act 4 but cant progress due to quests not appearing. What a mess this game is.

We're currently suspecting this to be a single branching bug with animations that causes a lot of trouble across the final acts, including the non-starting quests issue. Working on a hotfix.

the one that stop all the quest from appearing lol

It related to one of yrliet event around the time you talk to the lord of ceremonies
It show a cut scene of you just sitting in the office and getting up shortly after if it bugged

Apparently if you don't have her in your party and you haven't done the ceremony yet the game bug out if the cut scene trigger

so far from my testing
1. having yrliet in party and didn't do ceremony - cutscene trigger - bugged chapter 4

2. doing the ceremony but not having yrliet in your party - bugged chapter 4

3. having yrliet in your party and after the ceremony quest is done - the cutscene works and chapter 4 cutscene works.

Not sure about chapter 5, i'm still in chapter 4 but it isn't funny, so much bugs like wtf. This is pretty much downgrade from Wrath of the righteous to Kingmaker
