Remove hat

I want to play as an Astra Militarum but they come with a hat and I have been unable to properly identify whenever I can remove it or not. Which button do I press to remove the hat? I think it looks silly.

Its in the inventory near the top under outfit settings that is where you can toggle "show helmet"

The visual is bugged, though. I had to remove my character's silly hat every time we hit a new screen. Otherwise, it would magically reappear on her head, covering up her wild heretical hairdo.
