If you choose dogmatic stuff (torture the lextech, torture human slop etc), he will do the Heretic choice and let the machine finish it's work, which is kinda stupid.
You can also shoot the machine (aka dogmatic) and then kill him, which fails the mission (which is also dumb).
But I absolutely remember that in Beta I could just shoot him in the back of the head while he was busy with it and keep the machine for yourself.
afaik there's no real consequence, this whole sequence is there just to show Heinrix is kinda ruthless.
Yeah, it's all about Heinrix and his morals. You can push him to be a better person... or not.
Is it possible to corrupt him to not leave you later?
No, unfortunately. It feels kinda like it's leading to it, but even if he does become heretic, he does so off-screen, on ending slides. There is multiple endings where he becomes corrupted, but afaik, if you are full heretic, you are most likely going to kill him, rather than anything.
It's a huge shame, imo.
What a shame, I saw many comments that you could keep him if you romance him
I heard so too, but I can't vouch for it. Maybe you can? Shame you can't be just, like, bad influence friends though :(
