Act 3... missed Heinrix (spoilers)
So I'm in act 3, finished the arenas and im on my way to the spire... but the quest to save my companions is gone, and after researching, I find out that Heinrix was actually in the same area as Cassia... and its too late to go back, did i just lose him forever?

Hes a core member of my group :(

lost him forever as well. it's complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and act 3 ruined the game. he was absolutely nowhere to be found and not mentioned anywhere

this actually horribly sucks... I have no save to go back to :(

it's hardly helpful now, but when i play crpgs i made a lot of hard saves because stuff like that can always happen. you never know when something shifts drastically, not all games warn you because spoilers.

even if you don't continue playing this game, i guess it's just an advice for future - if game allows you to make hard saves - do it

At least if on the map you can see a point of interest or a marker... I saw nothing, I even walked to every corner of that area, it must be an easy to miss interaction

I was having so much fun with him, this kinda turns off my run, but I'll keep playing i guess

I always keep 1 hard save a few hours back, but not more, my last hard saves was after the final arena fight with the 3-4 waves of encounters, just before i enter the portal

He is in a metal tank towards the edge of Cassias zone(left of her), there is an npc in front of it that you talk to to release him.

Pretty easy to miss visually since I think the only marker is the NPC in front of him and it has the same designation as random filler npcs in the same zone.

...how did you forget about one of your companions? You get a dialogue to ask about everyone missiong when you first talk to the haemonculus, and, well, even if you didn't... can you count? 5 is a smaller number than 6, that was your clue that someone was missing.

We were 6 with Ulfar's, and I though I would unlock Heinrix later since I could not ''see'' the interaction

This is what I do. Generally I only go back to my "base" save and delete the extraneous saves when I'm able to freely move and have everybody on board with me and there seems to be no pressing time-sensitive matter at hand.

herinx rescute window in act 3 is very short, if you miss him then he is gone.

it's actually kinda cool you can suffer horrible consequences from your choices, don't you think? You can replace him by a merc (from the rep item buyer guy on ship) which sucks cause you are losing companion quest but if you so wish it isn't impossible to continue

P.S. It actually is very well in Baldur's gate 1/2 spirit.
