Oh well, he did one thing before he bites.
And I was given no Dogmatic point, wtf?
The thing is, that each of the three *secret* companions corresponds to a specific life path, and potential recruitment:
Uralon - Heretical
Chorda - Dogmatic
Winterscale - Iconclast (and Heretical, if you chose that path, and decide to leave him under the Bloodletter's corruption)
But currently Winterscale cannot be recruited on the Iconclast path, cause of the spine-mangling situation. According to what I've read online it's tied to a conversation with She-Who-Leads, but you can't talk with her after your arrival at the jungle settlement. Thus Iconclast players are locked out of recruiting a *secret* companion.
I guess Iconoclast character can't get their ways every times, or there's a different way to convert him after he gets back to the ship.
I prefer the son anyhow.
OOWWWLLLCAAAAATTTT!!!!!!
If ye have Yrliet in your party, when confronting the Aeldari, and take Winterscale's side, she sides with her people and ye fail her companion quest.
I'm guessing she wasn't present in yer situation and that borked the quest-line somehow.
As for Winterscale being corrupted, ye start noticing stuff about him and his "companion" way back, during the first meeting at the ceremony on Dargonus. Ye find out more during the "Hunting grounds" quest, which leads to uncovering the Bloodletter and it's scheme.
It is kind of retarded but it is a thing. I am surprise too.
Playing as iconoclast, got to that part and there's not even talk icon over that person, only standard mouse icon.
So not only is there a game-breaking bug with Yrliet if you don't take her with you, there's also companion losing bug on literally 2 zones next to one another.
Welp, guess the wait for completing my playthrough will take even longer.
In all honesty, I can't progress from that part anyway, as mentioned, there's Yrliet related game-breaking bug literally next screen after the one in this topic, but good to know for when it gets fixed since my last save is there.
TBF, I'm not surprised, it's an Owlcat game. I love both Pathfinder games, but they were in the same unpolished, unfinished state when they released.
