Gamepass PC and Steam crossplay?

The game is now available on GamePass. My friend has the Steam version. We tried to play together but the co-op mode versions are not the same. Should we wait for an update or is GamePass and Steam crossplay not possible?

Probably not i'd guess, Xbox Games is not using SteamAPI, dont take my word for it tho im not sure, some games are playable between steam and gamepass.

edit ; Yeah nah, if the versions are not the same thats dead, Gamepass has an history of being behind on game updates, like really behind.

Might be a way for your friend to downgrade his steam version probably, i dont really know but google does

Thanks for your response.I was thinking that at some point the versions would be synchronized, but if it's like you said, there's no point in waiting.Even if downgrade is possible, I won't get involved because of the technical problems that may arise.I guess the most logical thing is to play from steam with a relaxed mind.

Yup thats the easiest way probably :(

And im pretty sure Gamepass is behind on updates because they have to wait for Xbox (consoles) to allow the updates to go live.



Unrelated but the game is really good, im having trouble getting into Pathfinder (Owlcat's previous c-rpg) but i managed to play 18h in 48h with this one.
Pretty enjoyable.

I just ran into this issue. However, my game pass version is ahead of my friend's Steam version. 1.3.14 for me and 1.3.13 for my friends on steam.

There is no crossplay between PC GamePass and Steam I'm afraid. The versions have a different architecture.

Thanks for this info as a friend of mine was thinking about getting MS-GP and wanted to play with some people that did not have it.
