Just purchased, but should I wait until Spring 2025?
I purchased Rogue Trader with the season pass, but now I've realised the expansions are integrated into the Acts of the main game, not separate stories post-game like in Witcher 3. I don't wish to do more than one play-through, so with that said, should I wait until the Lex Imperialis expansion comes out before starting my play-through?

You answered your own question when you said you only want to play it once.

It would help to know roughly when the DLC content kicks in. For example, if it's in Act 1, then I feel I can begin the game knowing I shouldn't progress to Act 2 until the second expansion releases.
We don't know when will next DLC content kick in. The first DLC is completely integrated in the game's story from start to the end.
it starts just after leaving the first space station and acts like random encounters, in between warp jumps. so i guess you would randomly encounter void shadows story, then you get bored. and you return months later to randomly encounter Lex Imperialis story

That's useful to know, thank you. I'll make a start, but be careful not to progress too far.

There is a lot to learn on skill system. It took me some time to understand it. I would play 2-3 different (Noble Officer, Something-Psyker, dps) classes to chap 2 for learning. It will also help picking if you want to go through as Dog, Icon, Heretic.

Then i would wait for dlc release, if you only want to play once.

This game is huge. I can see myself in a few years playing through again but as a nutcase Heretic and watching everything burn.

It's because it seems such a huge game that I only see myself going through once. I just don't have the time.

It is. I have settled on Noble officer for the play through. I probably will not play it again and the odds are pretty good that i will not make it through once. I am still in act 2, and 100 hours play time, and i was still discovering new game loop as i started to explore planets.

I would play the game a bit to get an idea of the rule system and game style.
Why? You only have a small time window to return the game if you do not like it.
