First Galvanic Hymn - is it a puzzle or only way to solve it it to brut force it?
I have been running around the map to try to get some hints. I havent found any.

I looked online and found the solution.

But if only way to solve is by brut force or by looking it up online it is simply stupid.

(This is a "puzzle" you get in the Act 1 power plant. Where you need to finish the verses of FGH to get a secret stash.)

You can solve the puzzle without outside help. Did the solution you looked up not tell you where all the clues are?

No it didnt. I checked two solutions are those simply stated it.

Can you tell me where are the clues?

I do not believe there are any clues to it. At least i did not find any (and i've played through chapter 1 dozens of times by now). Maybe except the solution starting with the line containing "Omnissiah", which would be a natural guess. After that it's not too hard to brute force (only 2 other lines to guess, not too many combinations).

Thats what I thought tbh.

I find it hard to call it a puzzle in that case.

There ARE clues.

First is the interactable banner near the entrance to the monastery. The description says about the key closing the circuit.

Second is in the cogitator located in the little dead end path branching off the corridor with the electric discharges (the one where one of the fights takes place). You have to pass Athletics test to get over the boxes, but it is not that hard. Abelard can do it with little to no problem. IIRC, the text in the cogitator praises the immortal reason.

You have to guess only the "Omnissiah", but... duh. When in doubt - praise the sun Omnissiah!

Interesting. I saw those but did not perceive any clues to the puzzle in them (and i expected them to have clues). I'll pay attention the next time im playing though the area.

I may be remembering incorrectly or mixing up different things, but I think there's also a third clue in that general area. If you head right from the entrance (shortly before you get ambushed by the Electro-Priests who drop down from the ceiling), with an Awareness check inside the room before the Motive Force barrier. you can find two mummified Electro-Priests. One of them is still sort-of alive in a bizarre and uniquely 40K sort of way, and if you talk with him, he does hint at one of the lines of the hymn, if I recall correctly.

It's in the opposite direction from the room that leads to the electrified corridor and the room where you meet Heinrix.

There are in fact subtle clues to it, but, honestly, I didnt know they were clues 'till after a brute forced the solution, and came back for another playthrough and started spotting them.

I did brute force, didn't mind it. :Owlcat_sleepless:

Huh.
I remember those two priests, the more talkative of them can be persuaded to give your team a blessing of electric resistance, but the hint has eluded me. Though I vaguely remember him mentioning hymn.
Looks like I've failed an Avareness check IRL. :lunar2019grinningpig:

He is mentioning Second Galvanic Hymn. So it is different. I dont think there is a clue there.

I think you're correct here, friendo. I'm probably indeed misremembering things!

Happens to all of us more often than it should. Still, may the New Year bring you good health, fortune, and success in all your Awareness checks!

Yeah. . .Me too.

I really appreciate the steam puzzle where you follow the venting exhaust to turn the valves that lead to the secret cache, usually Owlcat is pretty great at giving visual cues for resolution in puzzles like these, but I got the solution from listening to the conversation between Paaqual and the wall Magos who gives you the protection from electricity. I didn't even know about the clues mentioned above.

There's a clue for that one as well. It's in the chamber where you meet the inquisitor guy. The room has an alcove behind a door that needs an awareness check if I recall correctly. The alcove has a loot chest, and also a pattern on the wall with an explore-icon. The description it gives is a hint at the first line of the hymn.
