"Game Configuration Unavailable"
Having the game stuck with this message in the download list. It starts fine, but I'm worried this status might interfere with patches and DLC purchases. I thought this might have to do with traces of a previous installation, but it persists after manually deleting everything and doing a clean install.

I had the same issue. I found this remedy:

1. Shutdown Steam.

2. Delete the file "appinfo.vdf" from the steam folder "\steam\appcache".

3. Restart Steam and check your download queue. This got rid of it for me.

Fixed it once, but the problem came back for me.

It's an internal Steam issue. Should be gone once they fix it.

Did you find a fix? I have the same issue and it reoccurs after deleting the appinfo.vdf.

For anyone still having this problem:
First:
1. Shutdown Steam.
2. Delete the file "appinfo.vdf" from the steam folder "\steam\appcache".

Second:
Goto windows search type "%appdata%" navigate to "\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\Saved Games"

Delete the file "steam_autocloud.vdf"

The problem persists after reinstalling because save games are not deleted which includes the steamcloud file causing the problem.

+1 the removal of "appinfo.vdf" from the steam folder "\steam\appcache". fixed it but after restarting PC and opening Steam again, the configuration error is back.

I also have this same issue and have had it since christmass, and nothing fixes the issue for longer than a computer reset. i think this is absurd that this is still an issue this long later. truely frustrating

Are you using any 3rd party software in the game or overlays (NVIDIA etc).?

At times I have had issues with Razer, ASUS and NVIDIA overlays and game accelerators and now I do not use them and in some cases had to uninstall them.
