Worth to play as heretic?
As title says. I am reading very opposite opinions on the subject

Very much so worthy of a playthrough. Or ten.

I heard it feels buggy and unfinished, is it true?

Heretics and Icono are the last one implemented in the game, icono to please all faint of heart and heretic for obviously things. At start only dogmatic was planned.

But yeah if you are not afraid it's cool

It was during launch. To the point of being outright gamebreaking. Now being a heretic is a whole lot smoother.

It certainly did for my first playthrough, back when the game released. Not nearly as much so for my second playthrough a few months back. Heretic points were still sparse back then too; I only managed to get to Fanatic Heretic using a save editor, for the best epilogue slides. I don't know yet if the Heretic points from the DLC content is enough to make up the difference, but time will tell.

My only complaint about the Heretic ending is that becoming a Daemon Prince is relegated to a mention in the epilogue slides. Would have loved some Wrath of the Righteous style transformations. Though it is somewhat understandable from a narrative perspective; can't make your allegiance to Chaos too apparent until the end of chapter 4.

I loved it despite the devs adding too many comic book villain lines. Wish it was more subtle, but even then it's great :DarkApostle::DarkApostle::DarkApostle:

friendly reminder not to sack the first colonie just because it is the heretic option.
you get a heretic event once it is fully build and that way you don't lock yourself out of content and stuff at other colonies.

Lol I find it the other way around. Iconoclast seems to me to have the most choices compared to the rest. It feels more fleshed out.

All three paths were planned from day 1 and even present in the alpha build. If you like Dogmatic best, that's fine, you're entitled to your own opinion, but please don't spread misinformation. Owlcat have had different ``alignment" paths in all their games in the past and WH40K:RT is no different.

super worth it. you will feel like a total badass

but you will lose a couple of companions at the end. though you can at before that happens just say "nah forget all that heretic nonsense, im with the good guys again" and they will stay

I've just watched the review of Mortismal again, since I'm very much interested in this game.

He said that the companions are a bit flat and not fully fleshed out. Like going heretic doesn't change anything with Argenta and she will only leave you at some point if you go too far.
That doesn't sound right to me, as a Sister of Battle would most likely become hostile in the moment you do something heretic.
Maybe she gives you the benefit of the doubt once, but the next time you're the enemy.

Judging by your post it's still the same? Sounds like a missed opportunity to me.

Review with timestamp for the companion part.

you obviously keep it hidden for the most part that you are heretic and the line between heretic and dogmatic is often so thin that its hard to tell difference for her or the rest of the companions.

but i have to agree, there should be more options with the companions. you cant really corrupt a single one of them

I've been really disappointed by the heretical path from a purely narrative point of view. It just doesn't make much sense to make most heretical choices, except if you are playing a deviant sociopath right from the get-go. I mean, very early on we become a Rogue Trader, which not only makes us one of the most powerful and influent people of the Imperium, but also gives us a lot of freedom to do as we please. I don't think there's a better position to have in such a grim universe. So why would someone who has so much to lose and not really much more to gain take the huge risk to consort with chaos? To get MORE power? What more could you want? A shiny artefact or whatever?

On the other hand, Iconoclast is clearly tailor-made for a Rogue trader and makes for a surprisingly fun playthrough, because very few people are able to understand what we are really trying to do.
