Should I buy now with the DLC?
I want to play Rogue Trader, was wondering if it's recommended to play with the DLC or if it's fine playing the base game? I'm not too sure how much the dlc adds to the base game, or if it's just end game content.

The DLC is meant to be played at the start of the game, not the end. It is chapter 1 stuff.

If you can afford it, play it with the DLC. If you can't, the base game is still fine.
It's roughly fifteen more hours to the game that spreads throughout the four acts of the game. The pacing seems cool. I've been enjoying it. You get more places to go to on your ship, and you have a number of little events and things pop up. I'm on Act Two at the moment, and all I have to do is travel to the newest system that opened up on the map. I'm excited to see where it leads. Obviously, the two archetypes Bladedancer, and Executioner are incredibly fun to play as and combo with different things.
I made that sound like you don't do anything from the first Act. You get about two hours or less of extra stuff to do in Act 1. You don't even need to start it in Act 1, but you do need to start it before Act 5 because that's the point of no return.

Thank you, I appreciate the info! I do enjoy dlcs that bolster the game instead of just adding extra end game content. I'll probably pick up the whole package

Chapter one stuff but it requires you to sacrifice 3 profit factor? Ouch.

I would buy the DLC with the base game or at least buy the season pass.

I have found the first DLC adds a lot of depth to the game and answers some basic questions and generally helps out with the story and the 40K universe.
Note: I completed the game 3 times and am early in my 4th game with the new DLC content.

I myself think the DLC info should have been in the base game.

For once Owlcat actually produced a good DLC, so I'd say yes.
