Executing Jae Heydari? (spoilers)
Is there any reason I shouldn't do this? I get that she is supposed to be some gold digger type who is trying to manipulate you for her own gain but it is so hamfisted and telegraphed that it does not seem believable that anyone would fall for it and keep her around, but it seems like the only options are to put up with her nonsense or execute her on the spot which honestly seems like the most logical thing for my character to do in the situation.

In fact the most logical thing would have been to kick her to the curb long ago or never have gotten involved with her in the first place but my cRPG brain is telling me if I get rid of this character I will miss out on content and I kind of want the loot and rewards that comes with that content even if I dislike the character and would never interact with her otherwise.

Would I be missing much if I hollowed out her skull and flushed her out an airlock or is she worth keeping around for whatever side content she brings?

I kept her around on my first run and ever since then simply don't recruit her.

Each companion can add an option for rewards after a project is completed on a planet. That specific option would just be missing if the companion is no longer with you. I can't remember which project she added reward options to.

Most chars have 2-3 interesting story arcs and you can "shape" them throught conversations for jae its 'Independent' and 'Shadow'.
For Jae: there are reasons that she acts like a gold digger, but they do not come up until chapter 3

Jae is an "impostor". Her whole personality and even the way she talks is only a role she plays. The real Jae is just a lowborn imperial solider who wanted a better life. if you like that personality better you should be able to convince her to stay that way.

You get a chance to execute her later.
I kept her around initially, begrudgingly, but hey, you are playing it fast and loose with all these pirates already, she doesn't stand out much given the others. So You know...give her a chance.

You later get more information on her and that made me....reconsider.

Things I cannot reconsider are her accent and the voice, which are grating on my nerves.

Well she gave me +2 profit so I recruited her. Hoping doing her quests will net me even more profit.

Speaking of executions, Does her npcs dying during her recruitment quest affect anything? I try to save those guys but they are hella dumb.

There is a quest for her later where a her NPC gets killed and they deliver the NPC head to her.

I mean, she's a mid-high-ranking smuggler with all the connections and business acumen that implies. Someone who can be quite profitable to have on your retinue.

The named ones can't die in that fight, they jsut go down the same as your party members.

Yeah I got that option and it really felt like what my character would do in that situation and I feel torn between playing my character the way they would logically act or playing in a way that gets me more content and loot as a cRPG gamer.

Because I know if I kill her it feels like a satisfying story moment at that point in time but then there is nothing that comes after that, feels like I would just be robbing myself of extra content which causes me to act against the logical direction of my character's persona.

She adds options for several events. Funniest one is the prison riot on Vheabos, where she gives you the option of blaming it on the wardens and replacing them with locals drawn from inmates sent there for petty crimes. It works out way better than you'd expect.
