Stupid word inventions!
Started the game for the first time and this is really, really, REALLY stupid!
Instead of just using the word "health" or something like that, they use "wounds".

During character creation, skill descriptions did just not make any sense at all.
Because with the logic of this game, having more "wounds" is better for you.

So incredible stupid.

And who did the testing? Some moron?
If you decrease a value by -10, what do you think you are doing? No, you are not subtracting 10. That is not how math works. And I am talking that kind of math you learn in the first year of school.

This all makes me so angry. Everyone says good stuff about the game and how great and good and fun it is.

Then I start the game and ... yerk....
Man, if yo don't understand the language you are using, don't try to create a new system where you describe everything in the most difficult way possible.
You guys are not up to it.

Sorry.

Owlcat didn't do anything odd here, they just followed the tabletop wh40k or Rogue trader rpg formula. Not sure why this was worth a whole thread of complaining

Just complaining that in their desire for unique tabletop system for WH they reinvented bicycle 10 times, and sure did their best to confuse the players.
Not really. Hit points represent the same as Wounds. Damage you can take. Neither stat represents your Health. Being at 1 Hitpoint or 1 Wound both mean you're one injury from dying. The OP complained about the game lacking Health which is a stat Elder Scrolls uses, not D&D or Warhammer.

Op doubts the word of the God Emperor. Burn the heretic.
We shall recoup their wounds for the depths of oblivion.

I knew swat about warhammer until I bought this game. Now I am so into it.

Legitimately some great lore here, and Necrons remain the best faction because we love our sad dysphoric robots.
Wanna know what we did the last time we had a god problem? We up and slaughtered them! Humans letting their chaos gods run amok; Necrons sigh in disappointment and set gauss blasters to disintegrate.

The problem is not that the system is dumb, but that when transferring from "paper" to "computer" they lost depth.
Toughness, in FFG games reduced incoming damage to BT, just like armor or deflection here, in addition to increasing health. Willpower was tied to the interrogation skill, and affected general behavior in combat even without the participation of psykers - even one burst could make you lie down and tremble.

This is in addition to checks of pure skills or changing the characteristic for a skill check (for example, stealth from perception to hide a chimera in the bushes).

Overall, however, the talents bring meaning back to all of this. Although they are nowhere near the talents of tRPG.
Had no idea, but I would've loved to see this depth brought to the game.
