And premade character... eh, in this game, I'd say custom is always better.
So you can spend your MP on moving (and the costs can vary) and your AP on assorted abilities, INCLUDING attacks.
Separately from that, you only have 1 attack per TURN, or "Action".
A number of abilities give you "free" attacks, meaning they don't consume your 1 attack per turn. Or can reset the attack limit.
If you hover over your attacks you will also notice that 9 times out of 10, they will also consume all your remaining MP and your "action". Action here really just means your attack. This is a hold over from the TTRPG it is based on I imagine. (And for psychic abilities whether or not they are major and if the add to veil degradation)
But you can also get "extra" turns, and those will again have their own 1 attack limitation.
These extra turns are totally separate thing from regular turns. Don't assume that stuff that happens at the beginning of your next turn happens on "extra" turns too.
Psychic attacks are treated as just that, attacks. Following all the same rules, but it's really hard to tell exactly which type they are, like Pyromancy attacks 1 target and then applies a single target attack to all around that...is that an Area attack or something else? your guess is as good as mine. But they are not weapons.
Another one, i am doing a quest and i need to "mend my wounds" I have a medic kit in my inventory but cant use it as my character does not have the perk.
How do I use it? I cant change characters, atleast i cant see how. Im using a controller.
He actually already has 2 in his quickbar, switch to Abelard, click the medikit icon and target your own character and presto, all done.
I see the arrows to change the character, how do I do it with a controller?
