Crossplay between PC&MAC

Hi there, Ive recently bought RT for a friend who is playing on mac and he wants to play COOP with me, I was wondering if crossplay between PC&MAC is a thing yet or are we still waiting on an update to come out for it?

No idea on crossplay. It's usually very buggy and unstable between different systems as I've seen with other games before. But doesn't it use steam to connect? Or is this a game specific connect?

Otherwise tell him to buy an actual PC so he can play games normally like the rest of us.
