How do you become an Unsanctioned Psyker?
I noticed some Unsanctioned Psyker feats. But none of the companions can select them, and I started out sanctioned so neither can I. I'm wondering for my next playthrough, what's the earliest level you can get them? Is there a special event when you select one or is it just as casual as selecting any other feat?

to become an unsactioned psyker you must first not be of a psyker background, then you must get 'psychic awakening' talent when you reach exemplar rank

note: this isnt actually very good despite the cool flavor

idira tlass, the first psycher you can get for your team is an unsactioned psyker tho

Does anything happen? An event? Do your companions suddenly comment on your new status? I imagine Heinrix might get a little huffy. And I would imagine Idira would be rather amused and pleased. Or is it just business as usual with nobody caring?

I don't know about now, but at launch there wasn't anything mentioned for being unsanctioned.

That said, there is no overt/covert pysker power mechanic in the game. Normally a nascent rogue psyker would hide his powers and avoid using overt spells to not attract attention. So others (with very few exceptions) would not be able to sense their powers. Using overt powers or opening a breach in the warp should call for some dialogs from the companions.

But considering psychic powers were a very late addition to the game, the system got a bit rushed, so it's kind of lacking. I hope they do something with the DLCs.

That...explains alot.

I've definitely felt like the acknowledgment that I am a Psyker is VERY lacking in alot of Psyker-centric conversations.

Like, why am I asking Heinrix about the ordeal of being on a Black Ship if that is something EVERY Sanctioned Psyker goes through?
