santic psyker + warrior
is this a viable class? i just made a character as it but im like having doubts about it. I am curious if anyone else runs something similar? I may go back and remake it a santic psyker + solider but i want a melee psyker.

It is perfectly viable... but Heinrix is already one, and even better, because of his base biomancy + sanctic disciplines.
For melee psyker, actually I would recommend forge world (armor option), warrior (max TGH and WS, 45 STR, then WILL max), pyromancer. (check what Inflame and Orchestrate Flames do). It is a tricky build, try to figure it out on your own? :)

as far as Heinrix, doesnt pretty much every party member cover some type of class the player will create? I feel like its pretty hard to make a character that wont be slightly redundant compared to one of the other npc party members.

edit: Pyromancy was my second choice as well. on my last character, i made idria use pyromancy. so i felt like i didnt want to put my own character into that role this time. idk im probably overthinking this.

Heinrix stats are not optimal but he can fill the role fine.

Really good build for sanctic is officer, master tactician.
Grab all resolve buffs, officer buff giving +5 fel per attack, master tactician +1 stack per hit and +1 resolve per attack.
Main stat fellowship, nothing else really matters.

Sanctic staff is available in chapter 2 from drusians, its staff power scales off resolve and so do all sanctic powers and master tactician talents.

Yes, it is.
Currently running a Deathworld Santic/Pyro Warrior/Arch Militant. Started as a Santic Psyker Warrior.

yeah it's a bit annoying that every companion seems better than the main character in terms of specialization, makes us feel weak

They get freebies cause they are really not optimised,
Idira doesnt get int, abelard is too high on toughness too low on str, heinrix doesnt have enough fel etc.

Only cassia is for most part ok.

Melee Psyker Pyro Warrior is good material for ultimate tank/damage dealer with Vanguard on top - i finally got Cultist Hood working (burns you 50% or give 2 AP) and i see damage reduction in the 40+ range with massive armor and huge deflection ratings plus Death world damage reductions.

Toughness all the way then willpower - Heinrix buffs you with even more THG and enough STR, take all psy rating increase talents (2 of them one from sanctic, one from pyro) lvl 21 pyro is doing +100 damage per hit/Ignite target, runs around in toxic gas, fire, immune to bleed

Companions just need to take care of some armor and dodge reduction, damage increase buffs and basically nobody else does not even need to do any damage because pyro runs around ands fries everybody crisp

This is my Current run basically. Forge World, Warrior Into Assassin, Sanctic+Pyro Psyker. I Ignored Strength however, and went all in on Agility and WS. This lets me stack the Lethality very high for Assassin, and then when I use either the Warrior Heroic Moment, or the Officer I can use all of my AP on Killing Edge, which has been super effective thus far.

Persistence of the Forge helps alot also, as does taking the Pyro Abilities that cause Direct Damage for each Psyker ability used (Which you can have alot of 1 AP ones for Sanctic), and the Assassin ability which gives +10 Lethality per instance of Direct damage you deal.

So far it has ripped through everything, up till Chapter 4 which I just started.
