Weird Plus Symbol

I've restarted the game since the recent updates, and I've noticed a new thing in the item descriptions. Next to the name on some of the items is a Gold Plus. Anyone know what that means?

AFAICT, weapons with this plus are weapons that have a modification that make them different to the 'baseline' of that weapon. In practical terms, the plus is irrelevant, you are still going to look at the stats and decide if this weapon is an actual upgrade for how you use it.
