As someone who has no deep WH40K knowledge, I can accept Yrliet as she is, since she is not a human and probably her mind works differently.
About Heinrix hard disagree. He might seem rigid, and that is perfectly fine with what he shares about himself... but have you tried playing as a female RT and romancing him?
Why? She's an Aeldari. She'd be badly written if she did the things you suggest because it wouldn't be true to her values. Her appreciation to you is shown through the fact that she hangs around and kills your enemies.
She can come to appreciate you, but does so as an exception to your people, not as the rule. Given the setting she's pretty much dead on with that too. Humans are xenophobic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in 40K.
They're also functional and fun, compared to most 40k lore.
This made me smile. Sums stuff up perfectly.
Very well written!
Yr is actually pretty radical for her race by admitting that, maybe, possibly, potentially, a single human does not suck and might have a functioning brain. And it takes weeks of actively surviving life-or-death situations and living with them for her to finally admit it.
Heinrix is equally radical for tolerating most of your antics without immediately calling the Inquisition down on you; an Iconoclast can also convince him to be slightly more lenient than at the start.
I do find it immensely amusing that Tau are missing from this game considering their policy of coexistence and working with 'The Xeno' rather than just shooting first and shooting again.
