Anyone find Pyromancer to be weak?
I am running heavy armor forged pyro, psyker/warrior archetype but like the psyker powers are super weak compare to warrior regular attacks. very conditional to use the aoe for very mild damage, u waste an entire attack turn with just warp warming people and the aoe does not work unless everyone is burning..

I am mixing things up with a flamer in the team, I got a flamethrower build on another team mate to see if it burning everyone and then using the pyskers aoe was worth it but it really inst.

I am still only level 11 act 1, but already noticing this build just isnt very good. I be better off using warrior with another class, my psych powers feel kinda mid, unless i just abuse staff..

opinions?

Pyro is very much a late bloomer. It's an offensive psyker that relies on psy rating which takes levels and itemization to fully blossom. Most early game psyker power comes from buffs and the occasional chain lightnings from staves.

I've done a santic/pyro warrior and it slaps hard but you kind of have to ignore much of the pyro abilities early and get the passive talents until you can meld the fiery warrior together. Late game warrior psykers can do absurd damage with psi rating stacking. They also work well if you have another psyker like idira or heinrix as buff supports with your officers. I would focus on santic talents first. They are the bread and butter of a melee psyker.

Thank you man! Yeah the answer I was looking for, a late bloomer it seems. I will stick to it see how it molds.

I think all the Psykers are underwhelming, especially offensively.

Anything damage-oriented on psyker is likely to be underwhelming early, as a lot of times your damage gets multiplied by your psy rating. So at psy rating 0 or 1, that's not amazing, while by psy rating 4, the numbers are quite large.

A melee psyker is pretty much the strongest possible melee damage you can achieve in this game wut? And outside of arch militant versatility stacking over a longer fight they are the boss killers and 1 shot zip around as well.

The thing to keep in mind is ignore pyro early and focus on santic with a few warrior abilities and talents first. Pyro abilities and most of their talents are caster focused. But you have melting armor, blazing inferno and fire within which are great no matter what.

You could just go fireball pyro and set yourself on fire with bombs and spells and rush in. But it's still a dot build and I would rather kill 1 enemy instantly than dot 1-3.

Also if going psyker you gotta either go ALL in Dogmatic or Heretical. Iconoclast works but you lose a lot of psy. Dogmatic is more constant psy rating and heretical is more situational psy rating.

That's the only spec I have heard people speaking highly of regarding psykers.
