How did my damage get there?
OR: Yirliet is the best damage dealer

I swear i'm not minmaxing the characters (at a casual glance it seems like you need a doctorate to make an effective build). I just took the perks that sounded like it would fit a sniper or increase ballistic skills and i ended up with this:

DAMAGE

It is Act 4, but I was already hitting the 2000 damage mark at the end of act 2 and the 4000-5000 mark at act 3.

I reiterate:
How did i get here?

well basicaly you have :flat damage, critical damage and damage modifers. now i assume that yrliet is assasin class and this class is very good at adding flat damage and operative class that she have gives insane modifers from analyze enemies that can get over 1000%, so when you shoot someone the damage goes kinda like this : Sniper rifle 20 + killing edge 20 + other abilities either from her or your party members 5 flat damage = 45 +(45 x critcal damage let's say 50 %) + (45 x damage modifiers let's say 400 % at act 2 ) and that all is equal to = 247 this is start of act 2 low - medium damage from sniper assasin while using zero talant's and only killing edge ability so imagine end of act 2 where she have many damaging talents and her party members especialy officer with insane buffs those percentages and flat damage goes way out of hand, the moment your flat damage become 100 all the damage after calculations will be 4 digits and for assasin 100 flat damage is easily achiveable withou guides or knowledge of the game system.

Redacted after 1 hour i test some thing, killing edge is still overpowered as hell the simple formula (lethality/7)x lethality% it looks like nothing but the fact that you can make enemy dodge = 0% is the problem, because of this your dodge reduction skyrocket and you lethality = dodge reduction, in this screenshot case your dodge reduction was atleast 1300 wich folows the formula (1300/7)x1300%=2 414

IMHO = killing edge if it works like i think it's works , should be nerfed to oblivion this flat damage numbers is tooo much for all stages of the game even in the start of act 2 this ability one shot everything.but i might be wrong and this ability just simply bugged can you make screenshot and showe me how much dodge reduction this enemy have ?

The short answer is "killing edge" :)
Saw a screenshot of it hitting for over 2.5 million damage.

Not sure how the devs are going to fix/nerf it, but i think part of the problem is that it's damage is increased by the attacker's dodge reduction, but *not* decreased by enemy's dodge increase.

So if you have 5100 dodge reduction, and the target has 5000 dodge, your killing edge +damage is 5100 instead of 100.

killing edge by itself is not busted it is combination of killing edge and hit the opening that deals this massive damage, if you not hit the opening the damage stays (lethality/7) flat damage but if it hits the opening then it's (lethality/7) x lethality% and i think it's easily solvable without changing the mechanic's of dodge or dodge reduction but by applying different formula:the damage formula will be: (lethality/10)/2=flat damage and if you hit the opening you deal additional damage equal to (lethality/10) flat damage . so if your
lethality=1000 then you deal from 50 - 150 additional flat damage which might seem small but the damage modifers with rocket this to 4 digits in late game and 3 digits in early which is fairly balanced considering that you can use killing edge once per turn and assasin job is to well assasinte priority targer not cleaning entire rooms you have arch-militant for that
