Any idea if a Dual Pistol officer setup can work?
Title says it all. Not sure if to go commissar, noble, crime lord, etc, or even which pistols to use. Also unsure which traits/stats to prioritise, seeing as my previous experience with officers have mostly been psykers.

There arent many guides on it, though most guides are pre-patch anyway so I'm not certain if they would work as is.

I'll also probably use toybox to get that gunslinger trait Jae has, im aware dual pistols are fairly...lacking without it.

That companion has an unattainable traits that makes it viable.

I find that Master Tactician for Tier II is very good option for officer dual pistol build - it can pretty much "one-shot" demon engine (at least that was what I saw before last major patch).

Yeah, thats the gunslinger perk I mentioned in the OP. Ill Toybox it in or something.

The build works fine without the unattainable trait.

There is a piece of equipment that makes the gunslinger really click. My first run was an Officer/Vanguard dual pistoleer. Used plasma pistols. Was enjoyable even without toyboxing in Jae's trait.

I don't think there is an inherent synergy between this style and the officer class, but the officer can get away with anything, really. If you really want this build to shine, go Operative instead. I had a great time using dual shuriken/auto pistols with my PC.

I dont think dual pistol offers anything over a Pistol-Sword brawler setup and both are inferior to using a two-handed range or melee.

you can definitely do a dual pistol build there's an item that auto-reloads on a crit and another to get an extra shot.

Dual wield drukari or eldar pistols with ROF 5+ and you can definitely be plenty deadly.

That said for pure DPS this would likely work a lot better if you go into Arch-Militant to rack up insane damage

I think soldier -> arch-militant would be better for sustained damage, but operative -> master tactician would be better at deleting one target. It's one of those builds I really want to try at some point.
