The violent Wulfen take-over is an every day risk for a SWolf SM , even more so for a chapter which interprets and does not follow 100% the Codex Astartes.
Well unless they're with the Lion as a redeemer of fallen they'd probably kill you if you even saw a member of the fallen... cause what fallen?
Interrogator-Chaplains are no joke
Honestly, out of all the initial space marine legions (chapters as of present) a space wolf joining a rogue trader is the least unlikely.
THIS QUIET OFFENDS SLAANESH!
THINGS WILL GET LOUD NOW!
Read them all, their naming of things is just insufferable for me. I know it's hard for you to accept that people might have different opinion than you since it's your first time but do give it a shot.
I like Russ tho.
However, it still wasn't the *best* choice either. Firstly, the Wolves have rarely seen eye-to-eye with the Inquisition, and have even been known to directly oppose them on more than one occasion. This tense relationship means anything asked of them would likely be subject to additional scrutiny.
Secondly, there are simply better choices out there. There are several radical successor chapters that are begrudgingly tolerated because they do more good than harm (until they eventually cross a line too far and get indicted) that would have been perfect for the mechanations of X.C.
1. XC could not use Deathwatch because he feared that they will find out about his pet project. A reasonable precaution, given that Ulfars pack also did exactly that, and XC was forced to set them up and eventualy elimite them. But a Deathwatch Killteam dissapearing after the inquisitor had requisitioned them would be super suspicious.
2. Events of Warzone Fenris campaign led to the Inquisition learning about Wulfen. Even though them were judged pure by the Grey Knights, they are still a secret to wider Imperium. XC finding a lost Wulfen and handing him down to the chapter to earn a favor is a good plot device.
3. Fenris is relativelly close. I mean Medusa is closer, but just imagine XC asking help from Iron Hands lol. Baal was besieged by Tyranids at that time. So SW are the only first founding chapter choice available.
4. No one cares about successor chapters. They are just seen lower than first founding by almost everyone.
they have their very own video game.
And they have a crappy mobile card game.
Hardly over represented.
