Equipment:
- Coordination Googles: +15 Awareness. Not sure where I got them.
- Hadd-Pattern data Loom +10 to all skills and can reroll checks once each. From the archeotech quest in chapter 2 I believe?
- Heart of the Nameless +10 to all skills. Sometime early around Janus as my first mission. No clue where i got it but as an Iconoclast it gives me anothe +10 to all skills rather than just +10 to Xeno lore.
- Exoskeleton Gloves (+5 toughness +10 Weapon Skill or Stabilizer Bracers (+10 Ballistics).. Anything else that gets some of your characteristics/skill checks higher really.
Lastly my build makes this part very easy, being a voidborn GS with high INT/FELL to begin with so I have like 80ish-100 in most skills to begin with. Anyways.
1st slide:
1. You can pick the check out prey option here. This is just the assassin checking you out (I think)
2. Act! This continues the event.
2nd slide:
1. ...summon companions (DON'T PICK THIS, it's a mistake)
2. Awareness check -30 . (You might need this since I passed it. 40% chance for me).
3. ...Break and run to continue. (Pick this one after passing Awaeness check)
3rd Slide: Pick the one with the best chance.
1. Toughness 15 (75% chance for me. It saves people in the streets for RP but they don't matter lol)
2. Agility 15 (50% chance for me)
3. Ballistics 15 (57% chance for me)
4th Slide:
1. The Hunt continues!
5th Slide: Pick the one you can pass easy.
1. Coercion -30 (95% chance for me)
2. Tech Use -30 (60% chance for me)
3. Lore Xenos -30 (50% chance for me) This one is friendly to crowds again because you disappear into an alleyway or something).
6th Slide:
1. The conclusion is drawing nearer!
7th Slide:
1. Demolition -80 (0% chance for me)
2. Athletics -80 (0% chance for me)
3. Logic -80 (10% chance for me. Had to savescum many time fore this lol. there was probably something I could have put on to get my Logic higher but i'm not sure).
8th slide:
1. Everything will be over in moments.
9th Slide:
1. Strength 50 (90% chance for me)
2. Weapon skill 50 (94% chance for me)
3. Medicae 0 (90% chance for me)
4. Toughness (100% chance for me. I think this causes another fresh wound or old injury)
10th Slide: You should get Perdition and achievement right here.
1. Prey grabs me.. (more info on why he was after you for us players, but not helpful or told to our RT in game. It just thinks these things because its throat is collapsed. no way for him to speak in my experience and it doesn't matter. NPC doctor guy in lab will tell you).
2. I die (Finishes this up).
11th slide:
1. Chaos is over in the streets back to the main game.
Now i'm not sure if there's a way to prevent the Old Injury in this story part. It could be automatic or based on choices. Anyways you have the weapon. :)
Edit: You can't avoid the Old Injury. It's a debuff given at the very end attached to the "I die" dialogue. :/
And is it just pass every check and you get it?
I finished the book but didn't get anything on normal difficulty.
I think it's any difficulty, just harder on unfair because you don't get any bonus to your skill checks (it was worse before a few patches ago when Unfair had like a -20 base modifier lol).
The trick is to force the flying assassin into close combat so he drops the weapon for the RT.
Edit: If you did the above and didn't get it, maybe it is a higher difficulty thing but I doubt it.
It's the reward for one choice during Janus' first colony event.
Also I think I failed some of the checks in the middle. So there is a good chance you need to do all of them successfully.
The storybook should just reward the weapon, but I think you can also loot its corpse for loot too thereafter. Just follow the above choices i listed above and successfully pass all the checks you choose and you should get the weapon. :)
If not something else is going on.
