Character Icons at top of Screen

I somehow got rid of the character icons at the top of the screen. I have been unable to figure out how to get them back. Anyone have a solution? Yes, I've tried hitting random buttons and looked through settings.

I haven't had that happen to me. Try saving the game, exiting to desktop, relaunching the game, and reloading your save. If that doesn't fix it, try transitioning to a new area.

So, I'd ask if you were in a tutorial phase or on the Bridge? First thing I'd probably try if interface seemed to be missing parts is the skip scene (hold enter) key just to make sure I wasn't confused... but don't recall this specifically happening.

I'd ask if you have anything else missing from the top of the screen or just the bar overlay(did you change the graphical resolution dimensions beyond that your monitor can display?)

Otherwise alt+1 thru 6 should select characters and may bring back that part of the interface, otherwise backspace or ctrl-a.

Did you submit a bug report btw? Even if it's not actually a bug it will point out to devs issues ppl have.

Not sure on specifics but in what I thought was a comment on an old patch, there was some mention of a player having to double click on their character in the main frame to select. Hopefully you don't need to - but the post was probably on reddit if you need to go looking.

Thanks for the response. I'm in Act IV during general gameplay. The "bookends" to the icons at the top are still there, so it looks like it is just a collapsed overlay. I probably fat fingered a hotkey to collapse it, but going through the display options, hotkeys, etc, I didn't see one listed for that specific overlay. I did support a bug report. Even if it isn't a "bug" specifically, they need to add the overlay collapse buttons to the hotkey lists in settings.

Granted I may just be failing my awareness checks and it might be in there already....

I'm not aware of any option to collapse the party icons, and I don't really see any good reason for an option like that to exist. I suppose it is possible that there could be a hidden hotkey that does it, but that seems less likely than it just being a bug.

If there is a hidden hotkey to do anything, I would call that a bug too because all of the hotkeys should be listed and available for change in the Options->Controls menu.

I reloaded the game up today and the icons had reappeared. Fickle machine spirits…..

Just had this randomly happen. just saved, went to menu, then loaded, all fixed

Just had this happen to me. Save/exit/reload brought them back

Exact same bug here. From what I can tell it isn't a hotkey hiding the portraits. Rather, they're elements that aren't loading so the two bookends load with nothing between them. Save, then reload the save you just made and it'll go back to normal.

Pasqal performed the rite of percussive maintenance on my cogitator and the bar came back

I've had this happen often if I use mercs.

The last time I had that was 10month ago, at the time a simple area change was enough. Quicksave reload worked too, didn't have any problem with that when I used mercs.
