TLDR: Chapter lengths vary even without fully exploring everything.
This is from memory and not too exact:
Chapter 1: 25 hours (level 1-15)
Chapter 2: 45 hours (level 16-30)
Chapter 3: 20 hours (level 31-36)
Chapter 4: 35 hours (level 37-42)
Chapter 5: 15 hours (level 43-45)
Keep in mind that the total time is taken from Steam and includes leveling up and looking up stuff, like comparing which colony projects should be built or what does a talent actually do.
My second run on Daring took only 100 hours.
I use an online dictionary, so for at least every text, I'll need to look up one to two words, or the warhammer 40k terminology.
Already new propriety, from a book I read two days ago, I love to honey my language skills with games, well at least it's a good excuse to enjoy the hobby a little more.
For leveling I just use guides and so far, daring is, besides maybe when getting gangsnipped, a good way to play the game, in my case.
Love the setting.
And as written above: I only know the total hours and have to guess how many went where. I am certain about the levels, because I had them written down.
If you did everything you could do in chapter 2 before moving on, the rest of the game collapses in on itself. There is only a very small number of new explorable systems in total, a round of companion quests and a few hours running around mopping up the rest of the colony upgrades/events. Act 5 is the point of no return act and adds four systems in total in a segregated area and the only significant side content are one-room dungeons to wrap up Argenta/Ulfar's companion quests(assuming they even work when you get there).
It's especially funny because the planets in the A5 area you are locked into have resources on them. Yeah thanks guys... real helpful.
