same problem here.
Only 3 but yes.

If you change a zone they are gone. If you load a save they are there again.

I had just 2 of them, but at some point they just disappeared for no obvious reason

It happen to me too, but for me they are invisible, you can see the yellow outline if you pause the game, and they appear in random zones, but 100% always in footfall.

yeah I wish they didn;t take up an inventory slot and constantly need to be requipped.

I want a dozen servo skulls announcing my presence, taking pics and vid of my glorious conquests and playing music to suit the mood.
