Rapid fire's "random trajectories"
Anyone knows what this means? mechanic-wise. I heard someone say it turns hitchance into a flat value which can't be buffed, but idk if its true or not, and i can't find proper info about this skill other that "argenta goes brrrrrr".
I just want to understand what the skill actually does and what "All the shots will follow random trajectories." math-wise. Is it a % penality? does it lock accuracy? because i doubt this game uses actual projectiles moving around the map like battlefield or homeworld.

The normal behavior of burst shot is that instead of having regular accuracy, you have trajectory accuracy.
That means that the cone of the burst shot is divided in several lines, and each line has a chance to be picked for each attack of the burst shot (that means that is there are 2 enemies in the same line, one behind another, and your weapon can penetrate, you'll hit both of them with a single attack roll, instead of 2 for a single shot).
In this case, your accuracy will give you chance to pick a line that is in the center (where your target is) and not pick lines where no one is.

In the case of rapid fire, shot will be fired at random, that means that every line of the burst shot, now have the same accuracy chance to be picked. So if you have low accuracy it will be kind of a buff, and if you have high accuracy, it will be a nerf.
And I mean kind of, because if you have a lot of enemies spread evenly in your cone, they will all have equal chance to get hit. So you will get a better spread instead of hitting only the center of the cone if you have high accuracy.

Doesn't matter, just stack all damage skills and roflcopter through the game. I gave up to try to figure out any maths in this f*cking game.

My Argenta in the end did bursts with rapidfire with 100% crit on enemies, nothing missed, all shots hit and somehow the 12-18 dmg of the heavy weapon scaled up to ~380 dmg per shot.

Most fights from chapter 3 until endboss were like: Officer/Grand Strategist starts with 2 turns, buffs up Argenta, 2 extra turns on her, her normal turn directly after = 3 turns = all enemies dead = fight over = all over companions had nothing to do.

Burst fire doesn't seem that straightforward. It seems to me that there is a second part to it: as though what you describe is only the first half: "chance to hit" is first rolled, and then some kind of "scatter" dice is rolled afterwards.
Just compare burst fire from same gun using 60 BS and 160BS. And pick a good gun with 5-15 Recoil - you will see the difference.

I figured somebody would say something like that. I'm still new to the game so I deleted my post. Not quickly enough though!
