Jae... Why??
Spoilers, I guess.

I stop by to chat with Jae, who I've mostly been ignoring. The option comes up to invite her to dinner (among a few other options which implied some sort of infatuation which was in no way derserved, imo) and she says she'll come by. Never happens, but I DO end up in my room, face to face with a giant (seemingly friendly) murder-beast and see her hiding behind the bed. Ok, in all fairness, that WAS pretty freaking cool.

But then I find that she spray-painted something on the floor of the bridge, something about my heart woven in passion with Jae's heart or something. And THEN I find out that she's been embezzling, and using my name for her own ends. And although it hasn't happened yet, I did see spoilers about a certain recording that gets broadcast throughout the ship...

All because I invited her to dinner? Sorry Jae I think I'd rather take my chances with the human-hating space elf or the insanity-inducing bloody-eyed and probably barely legal mutant. Is there an upside to becoming closer to Jae, or is it just a constant series of reasons to have her thrown out an airlock?

Asking for a friend.

(although I did have her graffitti scrubbed, and told her to stop stealing my shiz so my chances are probably low anyway.)

To have a serious romance with her where she doesn't mock you, go slow.
I see threads like that and just wonder why romance options with some wit and personality terrify people so much.
Like, none of the things you mentioned amount to anything more than minor annoyance and some hilarious conversations if you take it is stride and occasionally actually tell her to chill out.

In the non-western world, Jae's "wit and personality" actually mean humiliation and annoyance.

No, you aren't a "nice guy" for going along with her antics, you are a sucker.

The way I see it, I was trying to take it as slow as possible without actually ruling it out, and after ONE conversation it instantly escalated to undermining my command, stealing, using my name for her own dealings without permission, and embarrassing me in front of the bridge officers. Not ok in any relationship, never mind the head of a major dynasty responsible for multiple worlds while representing the Emperor of Man.

It has nothing to do with being terrified of a romance option.

Personality. Right. As someone said before: if you got no respect, you got nothing.
Jokes aside? embarrassing you in front of the bridge officers IS a pest behavior (even if showing everyone that their chef ♥♥♥♥♥ is the type of joke in your favour). That's just the type of romance option where you need to ocasionally tell her to stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around.

And hey, It's still better "romance" with eldar companions. What the ♥♥♥♥ even was that.

Where are these options? I would have picked them. I told her I didn't want love messages spray-painted on the command deck, she walked away as if I was the A-hole. I told her to stop stealing, again she walked away like I was the A-hole. Yes I'll agree that's certainly a type of personality, but not the type of personality I would want too close. But if you're in to that, hey I won't judge.

I don't romance the Eldar, the only true romance option in this game is just Cassia, which is done straight in the knighthood/courtship ritual found in medieval romance novels.

But I still think it's not going to bear fruits due to Cass being a Navigator.

If you think being led by the nose by a scammer to do her paperwork and gets rewarded with profit and sex is "romance" then I don't think you understand the word.

She actively undermines your authority for no good reason at all. You cannot afford that.

And concerning a certain recording scene, imagine if the genders where switched. Enough said.

That was hilarious they had woo'ing her as an option. The crew was suggesting I give her a colony to show my love. I'm the MF Rogue Trader, if the Lord Captain's pecker ain't getting cleaned, then someone's not getting their own planet. That's not how this works!

The serious delusion of giving a planet for getting his pecker cleansed LOL.
Then again, I guess it's in character for a RT to roleplay a wasteful spender, you are certainly HAVING the option.

I'm not even sure if I can give Cassia, the game's equivalence of noble romance, a planet though. Now that would kinda make sense due to her background, but I guess even Cassia's romance writer realizes that it's too cringeworthy.

Why? Really, why can't you afford it? You are the absolute authority on this ship with no one disputing it. While still not a good thing, she did nothing to actually undermine you in a way that will not be completely forgotten two weeks later max. And strangely enough switching genders changes very little as far as 40.000 is concerned. In real life - yeah that would be a very different talk.

Her first quest is about legalizing xeno-trade for HER.
It's basically you granting her a part of your authority (given by the Emperor), which is already making the local Inquisitor giving you weird look.

I'm not sure if people thinks this through enough, considering xeno-tech isn't safe for human consumption.

EDIT: In fact, if you are roleplaying Iconoclaust, but you give her this, you pretty much prove you are either a greedy little ♥♥♥♥ or a fool, and don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the people.

To be fair, in 40.000 arranging her a library with rare books on a ship costs just as much as that planet you give Jae. Also the reason I don't really care about her shenanigans is because from RT roleplaying standpoint her actions amount to absolute nothing. Recording and painting? - You and other RT certainly have more significant sources of bad press (Like burning or not burning several planets). Her taking "gifts" because she sleep with you. For RT this is such insignificant amount that you can literally ask, why should you even care..

You don't get involved with a pirate rogue not expecting shenanigans. That is what makes it fun
