CH2 point of no return?
When am I locked in to completing the main quest an unable to do side quest here

The chapter ends when you go to a spaceship. Either Yrliet or the inquisitorial agent on Dargonus will send you there (depending on if you recruited her).

When you have to go to Dargonas for a big party you should make sure you've done everything you want to first.

That sequence is actually in Act 3. Act 3 starts after the party finishes.

I think that is the only ceremony in the game where nobody gets shot at.

They mixed it up a little with Melee.

To be fair, nobody got shot when you first arrived on Dargonus either.
