Let Me Teach You A Magic Trick (A soft Pasqal build)
So, Pasqal, at a glance, is not very good. Cassia, at a glance, is this game's Arushalae, and that's awesome. But let me learn you real quick, for anyone wanting to do something other than spam Argenta and burst fire.

Pasqal being an operatve makes sense, lore-wise, but the archetype is also a little strange to deal with as a first-time player, and only really sees itself shine on higher difficulties when you actually have to worry about armor/dodge strip and debuffing enemies, meaning the character doesn't have a lot to do on your first play through other than stand there and look cool. That ♥♥♥♥, however, is for nerds. Pasqal, like most things in this game, can be broken with relative ease and turned into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Doom Slayer, and it only takes a few talents and one officer.

The weird build I stumbled upon for him goes like this: Pasqal has a talent that allows him to receive stacking damage every time he fires a shot from a plasma/melta weapon based on his intelligence bonus. He also has a talent that lets him restore 1 AP every time he uses one of those two weapon types. He also has Tactical Knowledge, a very good ability just in case anyone missed it, which helps you to stack further damage on Pasqal and a ♥♥♥♥ ton of armor on the whole party. All of these things together, combined with Finest Hour, which removes the attack limit on the extra turn that it gives, means that Pasqal can shoot infinite single shots (only constrained by ammo count) that also stack damage for each fired shot, causing him to easily eclipse 100+ damage a shot on the second round of combat before the end of Chapter One. This is on top of the general shenanigans that an officer can get up to whenever they pocket one character, and before you start breaking it further with second-tier archetypes.

Now, you may be wondering why I referenced Cassia in particular at the beginning. She's an officer. True. More importantly she is this game's Arushalae, if Arushalae was into calling people peasants, which brings me to an important point, so long as I am here teaching you important things about life.

Reject succubus, embrace Ember.

"Wait a minute," I hear you say, "isn't Ember a kid?" No, she's one of the oldest people in the party, nearly as old as the Crusades and the Worldwound, she just acts like a kid, and likes to play games and cute animals. She's emaciated, meaning she's small. She also just wants to stay home all day and talk to her friends. She's also a support character. That, my friends, makes her an e-girl, the apex romance option which devours all other. "But she isn't a romance option." Irrelevant, and, also, shut up. The only reason she isn't is because she would clearly be the best choice out of the rest of the options.

a) Max 11 shots - engine limitation.
b) His damage is still mediocre and don't scale well. So Finest Hour on Arc-Militant / assassin-sniper / telepathy-psyker would provide much more damage output.

I would have said Cassia is this game's Camilla. Like Camilla, she's snooty, calls people peasants and she does creepy things to the insides of your crew for reasons she claims helps her with her powers. (Painting in blood in Cass's case)

I tried adding Ember to my party, but I got an 'out of world setting' exception. :)

Except it IS helping her with her powers. Warp is more dangerous and nasty then Demons Realms in Gollarion.

IMHO he's a debuffer / alt healer.and good melee.
Give him 45 STR and wear Heavy Armor. But there's also great Medium Armor in A2 too if you don't want to waste feats on STR.
All INT and WS.
On the frontline with Abe who is specced as a defensive tank.

I tried the plasma build, it's average. What he does it finish people off that survived on the sides.
I went with Plasma Pistol. Because there's this item that reduces AP with Pistols.

Argenta, I play her as a sniper with an officer main and cassia, and while she's doing well on Normal, the Xeno sniper is much, much stronger than her and doesn't need to be constantly surrounded by people for more dmg. However I need her in the party for her demolition skill.
Where she hit for 40-50, the Xeno hits for 150.
The Xeno as a BH with spiked AGI, BOOM.

I really want to finish my 1st playthrough to try Unfair difficulty. I feel like on normal right now with my builds I have room for 3-4 times more, harder enemies.

Pasqal has to many melee centric feats.

I'm still in Act2 so maybe I got it all wrong.

When you get to like Act 2 and solve a certain puzzle (the secret way), Cassia will be doing the deeds, all of it.

And she gets the Finest Hour too, from me of course.

Yeah but not really relevant for the comedic comparison.
If we're being fair, Cass doesn't actually kill the person she uses this way. (She reuses and recycles!). But if we're also being fair, her accidental bodycount makes Cam look like a daycare provider in comparison.

But the scale of everything in 40k makes most things in WotR look like Daycare.

With a good Melta or Plasma I often get 50+ damage with Pasqal, even on area fire
Didn't ever think giving him turns tho indeed !

Cass is fine, but if prefer to put my thrust in dakka. Because of MOAR dakka of course. And it's seems to work really well.

That's is like nothing compared with proper damage dealers: Arch-militant, Assassin-sniper or psyker.

I really wanted to leave her on the ship because RP wise she's too valuable to risk. But she's honestly the least 'at risk' person I could bring. She's too useful.

But which puzzle do you mean? I'm curious which way (or if) I did it. (Use spoilers)

We have only one puzzle in Act2 - xenos ruins with 2 puzzles, second one is providing achievement and bunch of daemons to fight. As reward you will get a really good item for Cas / psyker.

It's the Unidentified ruins, there's a 2nd solution where there is NO hint or whatsoever.

Net some very nice items, like the Tiara that gives you bonus willpower by enemy you kill.

And then Cassia becomes the fish-wife goddess, destroyer of world. The Sea of Souls is just another beach for her to swim in.

I googled. I missed the secret route. yeah I can see that item being great.

edit: The name of the item even fits her perfectly.
