"Reunion" quest question *SPOILERS*

I didn't have the needed requirements to revive Abelard. So I had to push on, and now in the quest it shows I failed his part. Is he dead? Is there no way to get him back now? He disappeared from his location in Commaragh.

That is kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nobody died prior, and now if I don't have a high enough stat or a stimulant, then it is game over for Abelard?

Can you reload to an earlier point and try again later when you meet the requirement?
(Don't personally know the answer to this, since I left him back on the ship)

All my quicksaves and autosaves are too late. The only save I have prior forces me to go back several hours, it seems.

You can give him stimulants you find around the area. Don´t need to pass any checks

Used them not knowing Abelard needed them. When you start this quest you have a ton of damage stacks. I ended up grabbing Toybox and spawning a stim. Not ideal, and I am still irritated this chapter is set up like this, but at least I am past it.
