Chapter 4 - Are more navigator points happening somewhere?
I don't want any plot/unlockable spoilers, but if there's a way to get more navigator insight points in chapter 4 I am all ears.

Looks like no systems have new 'search for routes' options and only Gartrafal's Calamity is new to explore.

I am sitting on 2 insight points and have 3 systems I currently cannot get to:

The new one I listed above (would take all my remaining points to get to yellow)
Emperor's Palm (no link at all, would take 5 to get to yellow)
Frozen Prince (same -- no link at all)

I would prefer to explore everything and *then* start knocking off quests, but that would appear to be impossible in my current playthrough. Does anyone know of how I can get more insight points?

Thx.

At this point, only through random warp encounters.

I found a large 10 point event once, but nothing since. Ugh, will keep searching.

(my playthrough is fine, but I just like to explore before pushing plot forward.)

If you need points find a dangerous or unsafe route, or even deadly, save before jumping through, then jump back and forth until you get a navigator event to trust the navigator and boom there you go.

This are the ways:
- Making a deal with House Orsellio (not Cassia) in act 2 at your capital (+15)
- The colony project Emporium on Dargonus (tier 1) reduces the insight cost. It has the biggest impact if taken early.
- Rare encounters on orange routes can give you up to 5 points. That is just hearsay by me, as I never got points from my encounters, only xp.
- I cannot remember, but I got +5 points from something on my first run. Quest? Project? Contract?
- And visiting/scanning from each system once. That are 45 points including act 5.
- If you save the navigator on the voidship in Pulvis Platinum you get +10.

Maybe there are more options, but these are all I found or heard of.

Edit: added the voidship encounter.

I got 10 from saving a corrupted voidship in Chapter 2 and somehow saving their navigator.

That is the voidship in Pulvis Platinum. I should have been less dogmatic I suppose :(

Don't tell the devs, but (at least for me), when I click a system with no routes to it and select the option "3" (which should be the only option), I open a level 3 dangerous route but *gain* one insight instead of losing three as I'm supposed to. So try that?

i've only gotten this once. idk if you can get it multiple times.

I never got it and all routes are yellow or orange. Not in my first game, not now. It is probably a pretty rare occurence. Although, since it is rare, it can probably happen more often than once.

you can get it more than 1 time but it's in a list of several possible events and the damage ship or gellar field failure encounters both outnumber it and outweigh it in the priorities

you can. i got it twice now. you get multiple copies of colony events as well; my favorite is armed visitors - ship combat event, you get 5000 rep worth of space loot.

So in attempting to farm nav points from Orange, note that there are strings attached.

I never have done Orange before (I've always bought down to yellow per other's guidance), and by Chapter 4, hoo boy does the game have some scripted Orange events queued up for you.

So it may get random at some point, but my first three orange jumps lead to battles on the ship -- and they are not randomly ordered. Save-scumming just sees the same specific ship events keep happening.

I don't know how many of these I need to burn down before the orange-trip-randomizer kicks in, but I hope it is soon.

4th scripted unavoidable battle from an orange and counting. Zero random events thus far.

Highest HP badguy I've seen in these 4 battles = 110 HP. I'm absolutely steamrolling these battles in early Chapter 4, which clearly seem intended to inform Chapter 2 me to spend points to get lanes down to yellow.
