So if you get the Dual-WEapon Combat talent, does that mean you can fire your mechandrite-equipped range weapon after making a melee attack?

do note, you still have to 1. Not be in melee, or 2. Have a pistol equipped to do so.

Plasma pistol works well with Pascal, as do officer traits that let you stack 5ap on him in the bonus turn with voice of command -> aura of authority -> bring it down + the traits that give extra AP for those two. So he can do a couple things, stab, shoot.

Plasma pistol is the easiest option for his offhand.
If you want to use a rifle, you'll have to be trickier. Like using his mechandrite that pushes the target. or something like Danse Macabre if he's an assassin to put a little distance between them.
