Am I missing something from Frozen Prince ice planet?
Like the title says. Fought a Ferocious Helbrute backed up by 3 Chaos Marines and the only loot I get is vendor trash? Even on core difficulty, I nearly lost Pasqal on the first salvo from the Helbrute, so I can only imagine how much of a hard fought victory on unfair is like, only to be rewarded with nothing. I can't even go back in case I did miss something unless I load an earlier save.

I don't think the hellbrute even gives you much XP. It's a strange encounter all round.

I had that encounter yesterday, and it felt kind of weird not to get even an explanation for what the most rare and elite enemies of the entire expanse were doing on this ice world.

Agreed, my advise is place a bug report with suggestion to give better loot. Did the fight yesterday and was like this is all i get, about 2k rep at most of items! baaa

I think da lore is that a Chaos ship crashland on that planet and start killing everybody.

I imagine that this is just another symptom of a rushed game. Early in Act 2, some of the areas and encounters have some interesting content and flavor (like the underground bunker, the adeptus hulk or the infected black ship). The further in the game you get, the more slapped-together and half-baked these sorts of things become, and there are hardly any of them past Act 2 to boot.

I mean, a few times I did this fight, I always leveled up, I think it does give you enough XP that you'll nearly always lvl up.

I think there was supposed to be some quest on this planet (because, let's face it, space marines presence is a big deal), but the devs ran out of time, and this is the result. The encounter remained, but nothing else.

Oddly enough, theres another encounter with the Drukhari on an ice world in act 4, which is also unfinished. The enemies there are all incredibly weak, only a few of them going over 100 health.

According to the files you see one of Tervantas's wracks there and they talk like you have no idea who that is. I cant shake the feeling that these two ice planets were meant to be switched over, because neither of them suit the act they are in but seem to suit the other's nicely.

I mean, looking at their both Pathfinder games, they often do little, extra combat locations, with just a piece of loot, something to kill, and just a bit of flavour (though something may absolutely be unfinished too). Kingmaker linked most of these monster locations with another, end-game quest that needed a certain amount of monsters plaguing the lands killed, while Wrath did fewer such encounters, but a bit more epic, with a bit more story, and much better itemization. In RT we get some great little optional planets to land on, with great story, loot, and so on, as well as some trashy ones, that only give us EXP, some rewards, and not much else, they kinda combined the two approaches here.

I see that many people are not fans of Owlcat's optional mini-dungeons and mini-boss encounters, but I liked that form of extra content in all their games, PoE Deadfire did something similar with their uncharted islands, it's nice, and it's surely much better than some Bethesdian storyless radiant quests and "points of interest" with spawning bandits/dragons/sheep/whatever else RNGesus will give you.
