What does recoil do?

I can understand if i just saw recoil on weapons that had burst fire, which would make it more accurate. but how does recoil effect single shot weapons?

Recoil only affects burst fire. Each extra shot is made with a BS penalty equal to the recoil (Stacking). In a burst, BS also affects how much the shot will deviate from the centerline.

Don't think it has an effect on single shot weapons. Even when making multiple shots in a turn (Run and Gun, Wildfire, etc.)

Thats about what I figured for burst fire. Wonder why single shot weapons have a Recoil stat.

Edit: now that im looking at other weapons, i only see recoil on the Plasma gun's. none of the other single shot weapons have it. so might just be a stat bug.
