Burst Soldier?

Thinking about a new build for my next run. I'm pretty far with noble officer, because buffs are wonderful.

So what I was thinking was soldier into arch-militant, fortress world. Haven't been able to settle on an origin. Like... Maybe ministorium priest? The hymn could be good for momentum generation. Could toy with some psyker for buffs/debuffs. maybe spec into bolters 'cause of the one trinket that makes single bolter shots never miss?

Haven't really been doing much other than toying with it, so if you've got some insight, that'd be nice.

I'd suggest Hive world, and Psyker. (pyro)

Pyromancer has two talents that work great with high RoF weapons, +1% crit every time you deal damage, and -3% armor everytime you deal damage.

I'm only using projectile weapons basically, so I'd love the personalized weapon talent. and NSS rarely triggers when it would be really handy, usually only after the battle is already over.

This is so beautiful. Just lovely. I made a fortress world/soldier merc but then went bounty hunter. It is nice, but having played it I can see that going into arch-militant instead and focusing burst instead of snipe would be better.

Edit: Forgot to answer the actual question. I don't have a strong opinion about origin, but I would probably choose Astra Militarum Commander because it boosts BS and fits the theme.

Would a hive world crime lord soldier make an even BETTER soldier/arch-militant than Argenta due to the solid weapon buff and Sure-fire-plan?

For a burst fire ranged character you want Fortress World for Spare Magazine and Never Stop Shooting core feature or Voidborn so you can pick Bloody Mess (10% chance to double crit damage).

If you want to be lazy and just want a simple buff without needing more than 1 talent or to select any skill in a turn then Hive World's "Weapon Personalisation" talent for physical damage is okay as long as you aren't going to swap out to a non-physical damage weapon. It's not a massive buff but the +1 ROF is quite handy.

For the Origin the best one is Crime Lord for Sure-Fire Plan which gives you a (10 + perception bonus)%, and the Killing Plan talent which can increase it by another ~5% to 10%).

not really, never stop shooting doesn't proc enough. It only procs at the start of turn, so by the time it ever procs, the fight is already over. Just take the hive origin and pick up the talent that makes the M40 autogun and heavy stubber that much better. You'll be happier.

AND las lacks overpenetration compared to pure solid/bolt.

Running a Santic Psyker Soldier/Arch Militant, main weapon is the heavy bolter.
Heroic Abilities trigger quite often.

Funny because there is a charm that makes bolter single shot un-missable.

Just like a straight cheat button because the Emprah protects.

And lasgun is a huge scam, dakka is better.
