Why do the female companions in this game suck?

Idira = based but no romance
Argenta = Warrior Nun Virgin for life
Cassia = mutant/noble cuck romance
Jae = bad Isabella rip off/awful romance extremely selfish
Yrliet = gross xeno scum (and even if you like xenos ♥♥♥♥♥ betrays you)

I haven’t unlocked them all, but so far female companions are noticeably more annoying and dare I say….”Reddit” than the males.

Something tells me this is sort of an Owlcat thing.

There’s something obnoxious/ cartoonish/ bratty and tonally off about much of the games overall feel.

You're a Rogue Trader... as one of the most powerful people in the sector you have a plethora of off-camera romance options. You don't need anything from your retinue except competence at their assigned jobs.

Indira and Argenta are fine, Cass is great in combat but they stink for the most part. Especially Jae the thief and bug eyes betrayer

I skipped Jae because I'm playing Dogmatic and she seems very Iconoclast. I killed the xeno, because she literally betrayed her own people to help me. I'm willing to use a betrayer, but hell if I'm going to trust one. So yeah, I have no information about how those two are as companions so I'll take your word for it.

Pro, just do Rapid Shot + Unwavering Fire, and Controlled Shot for ally's support.
That's about it.

Idira requires waaay more efforts and is more dangerous.

is there a reason so many of the posts recently are "my pixel girlfriends aren't attractive enough, owlcat please fix"? did people just all collectively forget that romance options in crpgs are not the main reason characters exist?
