How are you supposed to deal with traumas
I'm on a voidship and I have to walk somebody past some traps to get to the thing that disables the trap (lightning, poison, etc). Whenever a character takes 1 or 2 ticks of trap damage, BOOM they bow have a head trauma, crippled leg and crippled arm and can no longer use their skills to do stuff.

Until I run back to the ship. This is so not fun.

Is there some way to avoid this I am not aware of?

i think medpacks? or is that just injuries? if it's just injuries, then voidship is only choice.

Back to the ship. But there is a special medpack you can unlock as one of the colony projects that can remove traumas.
Hahaha this game is kind of dumb. I got past that and there is avery unbalanced fight against stuff that hits me for 80-100 damage and barely is scratched by my attacks.

I guess this area is too high level even though it's the first place to go on the map after foot fall.

There is probably a way to go around the hazard, or else it triggers periodically and careful timing will allow you to pass through it uninjured. I've seen both those situations. If you can figure out how to pass it safely, the best advice is probably to do it with one character at a time.

Alternatively you can brute force it by sending one character through to deactivate it, taking traumas in the process, and then heal the traumas with a chirurgen's medkit (if you have one) or returning to the ship to clear them. Before you do that, though, I would very carefully consider the possibility that there may be a safe way to get it turned off.
