Did someone explain to Owlcat what Aeldari are?
Okay, so, it really feels like they looked at a few memes and then decided "Good enough, we got the jist". Yrliet is by FAR the worst written Aeldari I have ever witnessed in any of the games, books or animation. The other Asuryani aren't much better, but she just snipes the cherry off the cake.

Aeldari are supposed to be insanely persuasive. As in - to the point where every character warns you not to trust their honeyed words. Because even the most battle-hardened Banshee is able to play the role of a needy, horny space-elf that "was ostracized for dreaming of having a hunk of raw, human power taking care of... all of her needs [blushes and turns away full of shame], if only the Rogue Trade didn't see her as an ugly, abominable Xenos [looks back with big deer eyes full of hope]"

They have literally spent millions of years perfecting the craft of diplomacy, persuasion and seduction. Yes, she would think the same thing Yrliet does, but nobody would see through her facade.

Yrliet? "Dumb Mon'keigh, why Mon'keigh dumb? Omg, can Mon'keigh do anything right? Liek, omg, Mon'keigh, stop letting your feelings control you, Mon'keigh so bad at everything, omg" - B!tch, you're supposed to be an infiltrator and you need my help, but every word coming out of your mouth makes me want to jettison you and use your spirit stone as an ornamental butt plug, pipe the ♥♥♥♥ down.

Not only that - she has no grace or elegance in her behaviour. It's rash, emotional and direct. No subterfuge (aside from the hamfisting after Chapter 2), no double-meanings, no nothing. It's a more ♥♥♥♥♥ Sororitas that has 0 respect and constantly insults everything and everyone.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

If her being on the Path of the Outcast and being shunned by every single Aeldari you meet didn't make it clear enough.

Yrliet isn't like the other Aledari girls.
Correct, she's worse.
Yrliet: "You like BAD GIRLS, huh? Well I'm bad at EVERYTHING!"

[Tries to lean on countertop in a sexy pose, slips, hits her chin, and collapses in a crying mess]

More like somehow detaches and flips the countertop over, sending it flying into your priceless collection of chinaware, before hitting your entire family who are watching TV in the sofa in the head sending them all to the hospital.

Then gets upset when you call her a c*nt.

"I'm not like the other eldar mon-keigh, I just feel more comfortable hanging out with my Elantach, looking at stars and mediating on the bridge, unlike those other sluts who use their womenly whiles to meddle with the threads of fate. Idk, I guess I'm just quirky like that, you know?"

- Pick Me Girl Yrliet, probably

Eldari are space elves. Actually, there is a reason when outright copying WH40K to make Starcraft Blizzard basically ignored them and made the Protoss - Eldari are silly looking, feel really out of place and are aesthethically less polished than any other faction.

Eh, the Drukhari and the Corsairs are actually fine imo wrt how they look aesthetically, they both have pretty strong, well-defined aesthetics and all.

It's the Asuryani who feel really weird, like they decided to make them look alien by just making their outfits as completely bizarre as possible with no aesthetic sense or reason at all behind any decision.

And both of them are Death Worlds by standards of WH40k.

You're forgetting Dark Heresy adventures and BL books - countless people in Imperium are living their casual peaceful lives. And much higher level of technology making their lives more comfortable then lives in semi-medieval times.
Lol no they're not Death Worlds. That's only if you're literally living in the chaos wastes or something. Parts of WHFB is at death world levels, sure. But Empire territory for example certainly isn't. Living in Empire territory is better than basically anywhere in 40k in the Imperium if you're just a "common guy".

If we're talking chaos wastes that's more like living on a Daemon World in 40k, and I'd take chaos wastes over that any day.
Daemon world is worse than Death world.
Chaos Wastes is a mini-Daemon World, especially the more northern you go.

Fenris and Catachan meanwhile are death world, I wouldn't be surprised if they have about the same or just tiny bit lesser population count than the Old World tho.

Their like elves right? but in space?

Chaos wastes isn't daemon world. Daemon world would be north of the chaos wastes. The chaos wastes are infinitely preferable to living on an actual daemon world.

You're wrong here. Catachan have it's own human population like many Death Worlds. Just people living in very hostile enviroment and constantly fighting external threats = Death World.

Living in the empire is not "very hostily environment", lmao. The Chaos Wastes is.

It depends on where you live in the Empire.

Reikland, Nuln, Talabecland probably.

Stirland, naw.
Daliena Jan 7, 2024 @ 6:55pm
All this talk of the Empire. We all know that being a Bretonnian peasant is the real fantasy-40k-plebeian experience. You labor away, you have to give pretty much all of it in tithes to your superiors, and then you die, be it of some easily preventable disease because Bretonnians are filthy, or because your lords conscripted you to go to war where your role is to be treated as even less valuable than a Krieger infantryman.

Absolutely nowhere inside Empire Borders are even remotely close to a deathworld lmao.

A Bretonnian peasant probably has 10x the life expectency of a Krieger, if not more.

As said, just compare the population count of the Old World vs. the actual population count in actual deathworlds like Fenris and Catachan.
