Stupid question about dual wielding weapons
So, I feel incredibly dented at the moment. I'm trying to see if Abelard can get some extra attacks in while dual wielding chain swords. i tried the talent, and it doesn't appear to be giving me an option for him to attack with both weapons at the same time. It's either he uses his main hand, or off hand weapon for single attacks. If that's how it works, what in the world is the point of having a dual wielding talent?

Can someone please help explain the mechanics behind this? Does this only work for certain weapons? Why would I ever use this setup when a single blade would be superior?

You hit with one hand. Then you can do a second hit with the other hand for 1AP more.
Like the talent says, the extra swing gets a -20 ws and +1ap cost.

Hrmm - I've only used it on one of the later companions that gets duel wield pistols, so melee might just be bugged out, but I think maybe what's getting you is that the second attack with your other weapon costs +1 AP.

So if you charged in with Abelard for 2 AP, you wouldn't have enough AP left for a second attack.

The duel pistol companion you get kinda skirts around this with a unique origin trait she starts with, but I'm not sure you upgrade two-weapon fighting any further with other companions :/

You do get more AP later on though, which might make it a bit more viable?
