Operative Psyker (think Idira, mental powers) into Vanguard
Eisenhorn is mediocre psyker with strong resistances at the start of books, but highly skilled melee combatant. By book 3 and onwards, he's psychic powerhouse while still being great melee combatant.
If anything, inquisitor companion is very close to it, just different psyker class than what Eisenhorn would be.
Definitely starting dogmaric with some iconoclast mixed in, and just tiny pinch of heretical here and there. Later...well that would be spoilers for the books :P
Minor edit since it's there already: For later, I definitely agree with uncivil servant.
