TBH dont ever bother with making routes safe or even unsafe, the worst you will have to deal with on a deadly or dangerous is you might have to fight some demons in the ship. Its a none issue.
This mechanic sucks.
I wish I would've known how rare the NIP was before I started making all routes safe.
Almost nothing ever happens on unsafe routes.
I didn't pay too much attention because I had already connected those, but I believe a new red route spawned.
It's not a huge investment of resources if you do it smartly, and almost as good as safe.
Combat in warp encounters kind of managed to be both annoying and unrewarding, so I just avoided as much of it as possible.
I mostly use yellow routes and pretty quickly have amassed like 13 IP, making navigation easy, I just use them to get a couple green return lanes and change to yellow some oranges ones where I want to go
