You CAN'T max trade reputations if spreading too wide (only 1 + navy possible)
So here is the situation I found myself in when coming to the point of no return at the end of act 4

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3119155567

I "focused" on Drusians to get the power armor eventually (the feat I gave my rogue trader in act 1 as I didn't knew that I never get it back then) and ... well.. not even close. I'm missing 10 levels of reputation despite building most colony projects in their favour and despite having a mostly docmatic character.

Kind of disappointing - but the lesson seams to be:
  • focus on ONE main trading "house" for maxing out
  • trade spare items in another secondary house (which you never get maxed)
  • Imperial Navy can always be maxed as it has it's own items (but it's not needed as one can find better items for the ship when doing missions / colony projects)

That second point is best described with an example:
Drusians obviously don't want xeno artefacts or heretic artefacts. Fellowship of the Void take them. But as you pump every other item into Drusians, you can get Fellowship of the Void only so far.

All in all - big letdown. I really wanted those power armors :steamsad:

edit:
I basically pumped everything into the trading system and only kept a few items for my party. (so all those stacks of flak jackets, las guns ... were turned into cargo) I also did all colony projects and all sidequests.

I put EVERYTHING I looted into trying to get up to the improved heavy bolter and I didn't even get close before heading off to chapter 5.

I never even got close to useful with navy, and that was me going after everything I could fight in space.
Yeah. im actually thinking about testing this.
I started a new run, and i might make a "fun run" where i just start my party off at like level 20, and give them all the gear they will need and then from taht point on, just collect every single item i can, just everything, and not sell it until the very end of act 4, and see if i can even get close to maxing out one of them.

Even if you go about optimizing your cargo for the most optimized packing, i dont think you can even max a tree.
You know what, im actually gonna do this.

For the good of science, im going to do a 'fun run' where i just start off at level 20, give myself the gear i want/need, then at that point ill just save everything so it can be scrapped later to see if you can actually max out a rep, i dont think you can but we will find out.
They should have had some variant of the TT rules where acquiring generic gear is just a test against PF and then had the factions providing only the unique artifacts.

Navy you get most of from Colony projects, which ironically require Navy to get Navy.

Can't see myself able to max ANY of the other factions though. No power armour or fancy gear for me!

TBH It's a great game, I can't understand people calling it bad, but it does have some serious worms to be fixed. Companion quests, passives not working (classic owlcat this one!) and rep being entirely unbalanced would turn things around massively. Feels like it should be half what it is now and some spoilery events that only give you 500 rep should give 5000 or more.

Oh and if I'm greedy, if they fixed the game quicksaving slower and slower the more you play that'd be awesome T_T

Power Armor the 2 from the Priest store actually isnt that good. The heavy armor from the other store gives deflection of carouse/10 and the heavy armor from projects is deflection coercion/10.

And their is a piece of gear that gives you armor of tech/10 % while giving you +25 to tech you need to wear medium or heavy. In medium you can max out armor and dodge but have 0% deflection.

The power armor are both 85% armor they give better dodge but deflection is 10 on the non tech priest and tech priest is 5.

But the coercion and carouse armor you can get deflection of like 20ish plus the talent that is 2x deflection for single shot so we are talking 50 deflection from single shot and you probably are able to max 95% armor dodge and parry even on ranged.

But the priests have the best Argenta Bolter. Pirates have the best Navigator staff and best heavy bolter but you need extra talents since its 3ap. Priests also got the best plasma rifle where its an over charge area attack for 1ap on pasqal that cost 0ap.

I dont think the Kasballica have anything useful. Most of it isnt as good as any of the Xeno stuff you find.

The tech priests sell the carouse heavy armor while also selling all of the space marine bst gear.

I dont think the game is BAD. It takes a lot for a game to be bad. But I dont think personally it is as fun as either Pathfinder game or Expeditions Rome or even WH40k Chaos Gate DH to keep it in universe.

I think Owlcat has good story and good companions and good quests.

But ship combat, colony management, reputation are completely useless systems that a lot of time and resources were spent on that could have went to other areas.

Now as both Pathfinder games were really designed RtwP instead of Turn base I think combat meshed well with the system.

But combat in RT is just a giant gimmick. It is why difficulty doesnt matter. If you use one of the handful of optimal party builds and use abilities in the optimal order you always win.

If not it is up to luck. You have to win init or get like 2 or 3 party members killed before you can act since you cant buff. And armor parry dodge is capped at 95% in combat after debuff and there is plenty of combat and like 20-30 enemies every battle. If 10 of them move first well you will fail a roll and get 1 shotted or bursted KIA.

So if you arent optimal then you have to rely on luck of the d100 or keep reloading.

Turn base combat is suppose to be tactical. Use real cover systems with proper vaulting and sliding, usage of items, choke points, positioning, environment. Literally known of that means anything in this game.

just use xyz classes then use these abilities in xyz order, rinse and repeat

Doing some research my second playthrough and put some notes down RE experience tables for the trading houses and wether they depend on each other or not.

This is what I got so far:

Drusians 00: 0 - 5230 01: 5230 - 9560 02: 9560 - 10230 03: 12050 - 15810 04: 15810 - 05: Explorers 00: 0 - 1500 01: 1500 - 02: 03: 04: 5000 - 5650 05: 5650 -

This is data pulled out of the houses when first coming to Footfall, so chapter 2. (I ignored the "starting traders"). I avoided investment in any trading house until being able to access the Drusians - which is only possible in chapter 2.

I took the second reward choice from the explorers (+5000 rep) to check wether the Drusians get a different reputation progression or not. So far, they did not - raising the Explorers to rank 4 did not change the Drusian progression table.

Will update at least the Drusian table as I'm pumping every items I have into them to (hopefully) reach their max reputation in this playthrough.

Yea that really sucks. Espicially since there is no way to know until it is too late. I highly advice to fix this issue with ToyBox
its embarrassing that toybox has almost become a necessary tool with their games.
they should just auto include it into their future games

there should be decreased max repitation cap mod. work in progress
in case your toybox skill is lowtier
corisai lähetti viestin:
Same. And would like devs to reduce rep prices - they're crazily high.

P.S. Profit Factor costs over 100 per item also have very little sense lore-wise, even if we're able to fulfill them.

i think the things you 'buy' are actually gifts they give you.
Why is everyone so concerned about the Drusians?
You want fun early in game? Just use Arcemi Savegame Editor and give a decent boost to your factions levels and to your profit factor!

Then play the game normally but you can try a lot of the cool items the factions have! Makes the game SO MUCH more fun!

Enjoy!

PS: Yes, that is cheating. Who cares? Single player game, have no shame! Have fun!

Dont know what it is, therefor never used it. Played Kingmaker, WotR and this without it without problem. Dont know what you are twlking about.

best bolter is actually the pirate one, you have toybox right
use it, best bugged item you cant use ever
I mean, it`s single player, so everyone can do as they please, but since when has cheating (toybox is just that, or it`s rather like using a trainer) become such commonplace? If you read the comments here it seems like lots of people dont play as the game is intended but go right to it, even pretending like it was neccesary when it simply isn`t

Except Argenta is *far* better as a sniper. give her the longlas and build her right and she wrecks anything you point her at for a hefty chunk.
