Act there isn't enough stuff and act 5 no more shops.
Reputation system is atrocious. It's not fun. There is less equipment then in post apocalyptic games. Like wtf.
Equipment is not satisfying. Projects is the same thing you can't see final projects to act 4 so you don't know final items so you get locked out.
I honestly don't like anything to do with reputation trading projects or equipment.
There are some powerful items but you have to know meta to figure out everything in order to get it.
I just don't understand how players see this as fun. I don't want meta knowledge of a game I'm playing to buy gear.
In act 5. Can't wait till end so I can uninstall and never play again.
Both pathfinder games were 10x better no comparison.
Absolutely probably should have been a July release. I am looking forward to starting Colony Ship after Xmas.
I was so hyped about this game but it kind of let me down. I just feel like everything in the game is a gimmick.
trading, ship combat. reputation, colony management, hell even land combat is about cheesing to move 1st and spam the same talents every fight no matter what.
I really liked story in Act 1-2. Didnt like Act 3. Act 4 was too inquisition. Enjoyed all of the companion quests. Act 5 just started and I honestly dont care about tracking down you know who. Like it just doesnt interest me at all. I liked the interaction with the other 2 RT.
Really displeased with combat. I will say there are multiple builds for party and characters but it all ends up the same way. Find the order of operations and just do that over and over. There is absolutely nothing tactical about the turn base combat. Its all talent gimmick nonsense.
The cover system is atrocious. And there is no vaulting or sliding interactions. It tries to come off as a squad tactical combat game but utterly fails.
I did really like the companions especially after BG3 who I hated every single companion and completely lost interest.
I am hoping Colony Ship doesnt let me down. Before release I was like RT gonna be A+ now I am thinking it is more a C-.
It's impossible to focus entirely on one faction, because no faction accepts all types of cargo. Even if you threw everything you could at the Drusians, you probably won't reach the point where you can get the power armor, just because there isn't enough stuff that they want to get there.
Another problem is that end game equipment is worth the same amount of cargo as early game equipment. A [Sol Pattern] Power Sword with 29-43 damage and 35% armor pen is worth 10% just like a normal Sword with 6-9 damage and 5% armor pen. It's nonsense. You don't get much to trade in Act 4, so that endgame stuff should be worth much more to fill cargo faster. Make up for the lack of quantity with quality.
But there are quite a bit of core issues with it. I got my full monies worth so i cant complain to much, but for their first outting into the RT series, i dont know if i would say it was the best foot forward.
Owlcats first 2 Pathfinder games had a ton of bugs but I felt as far as QoL and mechanics it was feature complete.
Rogue Trader has probably even more bugs then WotR and the mechanics are just super janky where even though it is a complete story Acts 1-5 it actually does feel like a beta because certain mechanics dont work or arent fleshed out.
Reputation is 1. So is whatever Dogmatic thing is called. I have 320 picked every Dogmatic Response in game I am only at lvl 3 and Act has begun. I dont think it would be possible to get 125+ points in Act 5 to max out Dogmatic.
So is the entire Puritan Dogmatic circle just broken? I know you dont get enough Dogmatic points even if I happened to miss a couple it wouldnt explain having 320 going into Act 5 while you need 550 to get Dogmatic Level 5.
I really like the companions and there story. I didnt like Act 3 at all. The rest of story is really good but it is kind of less interesting I was hoping for a little bit more of actually doing Rogue Trader stuff and not just typical save the universe cRPG stuff.
Act 1 2 and even 3 felt like it was fleshed out, 4 and 5, felt like it was slapped together.
The biggest let down for me, was that, at no point was there a big map reveal. See king maker and wrath both had multiple big map reveals. Like in king maker you got that first starting area before you killed the bandit king. THen you got that entire middle section revealed and you were like OH DAMN thats al ot of stuff!
Then you got the east side of the map and your like OH WOW! more new stuff
then you got to north west, then the south west and you like damn even more!
RT never had that besides act 2, and that was the issue. You spent all of act 2 exploring and your like wow im expanding my empire sweet, then act 4 hits, and there is no reveal. you ahve 2 entire side of the map empty, and nothing is showing up.
This is why i feel like the game was half finished because 2 thirds of the map is empty space.
I never even got close to useful with navy, and that was me going after everything I could fight in space.
Can't see myself able to max ANY of the other factions though. No power armour or fancy gear for me!
TBH It's a great game, I can't understand people calling it bad, but it does have some serious worms to be fixed. Companion quests, passives not working (classic owlcat this one!) and rep being entirely unbalanced would turn things around massively. Feels like it should be half what it is now and some spoilery events that only give you 500 rep should give 5000 or more.
Oh and if I'm greedy, if they fixed the game quicksaving slower and slower the more you play that'd be awesome T_T
I started a new run, and i might make a "fun run" where i just start my party off at like level 20, and give them all the gear they will need and then from taht point on, just collect every single item i can, just everything, and not sell it until the very end of act 4, and see if i can even get close to maxing out one of them.
Even if you go about optimizing your cargo for the most optimized packing, i dont think you can even max a tree.
