40k TV Series with Henry Cavill!

Unfortunately its being made by Amazon so prepare to have literally every aspect of 40k horrifically ruined.

Henry's really awesome but unless he straps a bomb to his chest and forces the kindergarten quality writers to stick to the lore its going to be a complete disaster ala rangs of power or wheel of time... Remember how they (netflix) butchered the Witcher? All the good parts of that series were Henry's doing but I dont think even superman can stop this impending disaster haha

Not the proper forum for it but im curious what other peoples opinion are on this monkey paw wish?

If we see a female Space marine, the world will end, I 100% guarantee it.

There will be epic meltdowns everywhere, new salt mountains will be created, man it's horrifying to even contemplate the reaction.

But Amazon tried implying a female could be the dragon reborn in the travesty they made of the epic wheel of time series, so who knows how much garbage we'll get.

I tried watching season 2 of Neil Gaimans series on Amazon (Tennent & Sheen) I didn't even make it to the the end of episode one it was that dire, like trash bad.

Amazon do not have a good track record with this sort of thing, Reacher is doing OK, the Jack Ryan reboot I'm mhm not good, not bad over it.

But man, GW are pretty g'dang uptight with their IP, I can't imagine the wrangling that went on between Amazon and GW over the creative rights, review system and final say so.

So I'm waiting with a sense of "I''ll take an average show thats true to the lore of WH40K, but I'm fully expecting the worst."

And F*** Netflix for that garbage they did with the Witcher.

Amazon is incapable of creating something great. They can only publish greatness. Hopefully they realize this and allow Caville to fully control the show 100%.

so we'll get "stuck" with the usual chaos ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Nurgle/Khorne. Because Tzeentch would cause people heads to implode for the non 40k fans that try to watch the show, and Slannesh is self explanatory.

Edit: by that I mean a generic, IG facing off against Orkz, with Eldar "sneaking" around only for it to be "revealed" that a group of CSM are taking advantage of the Orkz attacking to to whatever shenanigans they are up to and when all hope seems lost que the heroic music and have the Ultrasmurfs drop onto the planet. I'm not saying it will be bad just I don't have high hopes it will be good.

GW is so very protective of their IP.. you do some pic of their IP and you likely have a lawyer suing you before the upload is done...

but... $$$$ talks...

not gona hold my breath... but just hope GWs suing any and everyone who remotely refers to Warhammer.. will keep Amazon.. true to the source..

Not like that. Just look at all the shovelware 3rd Party products they put out. Just look at all those things that contradict canon in the Fantasy Flight PnP products. It's why a lot of people believe Humans can't fire Gyrojet Weapons and that Astartes Bolters are somehow special, while the cannon makes no difference and says Astartes Bolters are just getting added telemetry and a more robust housing so they can be wielded as clubs by excoskeleton wearing people.

Or take Dawn of War where game and tie in novel made Gaunts impervious to bolter rounds, including heavy bolter rounds.

GW is protective of their business, not the IP. The don't care if 3rd Party Products contradict canon, because they aint canon. The blood magpies only exist in name only in canon, just enought to let people that are fans of DoW have a connection, but without ever confirming or acknowledging more beyond that.

Cavil makes a show based on a non Canon Character of a 3rd Party Products. Heck the Ghosts are more canon than Eisenhorn.

My hope is they looked at something like Eisenhorn/Ravenor (which at it's core is space good guys hunting space bad guys, detective/action show.)

Or they looked at Gaunt's Ghosts (which is basically Band of Brothers style, but in space and aliens and stuff.)

If they try making some B***S*** epic space opera, with Primarchs and Legions and Mars and Luna etc etc basically full on wet our pants jizz because omfg this is all epic lets go wild with CGI of planetary battles with titans and super heavy tanks and millions of guardsmen, or lets tell the story of the Tyranid invasion of Macragge, it will be trash 100% trash.

They need to focus on what type of show it's going to be (mystery/action/Investigation/Horror/Soldiers/etc) and then look for a great core character and build it up from that point with the lore that's available (and lets be honest they got so so much to draw inspiration from.) and we just might get an amazing story/show.

(Or the creators who they can't catch to sue) The more GW is involved, the worse it is. If Amazon and GW are all over it, it will suck or be mediocre. If Caville gets creative freedom, it may be pretty good.

Henry Caville loves iconic roles superman, witcher, etc.... reason he went off on witcher was differences between his guys and amazons guys... He will move on as well after warhammer i am a little excited about this but amazon is doing it so will not be good.

Change youtube propaganda channels and expand your horizon by checking out Reacher and Extraction for Netflix. Netflix or Amazon matters little, the Producers are the issue.

this - GW has approved. from what we can tell. so.. we can hope it keeps true to the theam? but only time will tell....

GW offered contracts to all of them and they only cared once they made the Warhammer Plus service and thus got rid of the competition, offering a join or die contract.

GW didn’t shut down Lord Inquisitor or Text to Speech Device, in fact Ttsd the creator shut down because they were concerned with the direction the IP protection was going and preferred to shut down than be forced to do so. (Also if I remember right they also said they wanted to move onto other projects anyway.)
